I got classy Patricia Kaas vibes listening, and Patricia Kaas was my fave entrant for France great job France

I absolutely adore Patricia Kaas but I can’t connect to Barbara at all.
Patricia’s voice and stagecraft are exemplary.
In comparison, Barbara sounds like a little girl playing dress up and it just doesn’t sound authentic to me.

You know sometimes we talk about the possibility of entries being longer than 3 minute? Voilà made me feel thankful that didn't happen.

Really good show last night! I enjoyed most of it.

It was nice seeing Chimene Badi on the jury, she looked so good!

As for the songs - I wish Bah non and Terrence did better. Bah non had a cool performance in my opinion.

Voila was good, I like the song, but I didn't like the last 30s of the staging AT ALL.

A good song, and an even better live performance. I absolutely love this. France continues to be one of my absolute favourite countries in the ESC - even though they have given me a real hard time lately...

Sort-of-good performance, unremarkable and very typical French song. It's basically what they've bored everyone with every other year for decades. Even if it is good in its genre, very French chansón, i don't see this appealing to others than fans of this genre.

The song itself is nice, but I cannot connect to her theatrics, like at all. It's not as bad as Salvador, whose persona and stage presence were a completely turn off for me, but it is still not something I would be crazy about. It's not even something that groundbreaking, I feel like I've heard this song performed a thousand times before, it oozes french stereotypes and it has no business taking itself so seriously.

And ofc it gets Salvadoresque hype, great, 2021 already annoying me

points.

1. Juliette Moraine "Pourvu Qu'on M'aime" : This gave me tears, she was the most touching artist
2. Barbara Pravi "Voilà" : Beautiful song, it's like Edith Piaf meets Jacque Brel

Good :

3. Ali "Paris me dit" : The grower of the night, I didn't like the studio version but the live was amazing
4. Casanova "Tutti" : I loved the ethnic part at the beggining, the song is good too
5. Amui "Maeva" : Good performance, for once I danced

Not bad :

6. Terence James "Je t'emmènerais danser" : Flop of the night, it was just ok
7. Andriamad "Alléluia" : An ok song but nothing more

Bad :

8. LMK "Magique"

Very Bad :

It's still better than Th* B*st In Me and it – at the VERY least – sounds contemporary, fresh and French-sounding of course.

I can't believe that our HoD believed that we would win with such a trainwreck last year...

I just finished watching Voila. It’s fantastic. The first time a french Eurovision song has ever grabbed my attention, EVER. If it’s not top 5 I’ll be surprised. People will really connect with this. Wow.
