I honestly ask myself the same question when I see certain votes. People shouting at the masterpiece for the songs of Norway, Lithuania and Latvia ... I have given a 4 rating to France but it is unfair to say that the French song is from 0. It is monotonous, it lacks soul but technically not it is bad and slightly reminiscent of the 90s boyband style. What's wrong with this evaluation? Are you sure you were listening the right one?!
No surprise from you hereI read most of the comments before i listen to the song. I thought that it is going to be very bad! And after i listened i can say you that it is a very good song and a positive surprise to me!
The poll is horrible and unfair
I agree, I voted 8 in the poll.I honestly ask myself the same question when I see certain votes. People shouting at the masterpiece for the songs of Norway, Lithuania and Latvia ... This is EXACTLY what I was talking about, people have a lot of expectations for France but are disappointed every year, then get hyped next year, etc. But I repeat it : I'm not saying that "The best in me" is a masterpiece, far from that. What did you expect from a dated, old-fashioned, formulaic piece of cheesy trash which is lacking originality, oomph, identity and artistry?
This is not even on a "Bigger Than Us", "Waterfall" or "My Heart Is Yours" level.
+ This coming from France is unacceptable. They are no San Marino or Azerbaijan.
It's nowhere near as bad as you say. I think that peope exagerating because they expected something else. I see alot of potential here. What did you expect from a dated, old-fashioned, formulaic piece of cheesy trash which is lacking originality, oomph, identity and artistry?

I think most people don't say song itself is very bad, actually in the end it will be better then good % of other entries. This is more about how lame the choice is - going with basic safe ballad by swedish songwriters - having super big and quality music industry in the country. France is not MoldovaI read most of the comments before i listen to the song. I thought that it is going to be very bad! I agree for some parts but :My expectations were and are not high for France, sure this is different to what i expected but it's not a good different. In fact it's worse. To put it into context i didn't like Bilal at all last year, it was dull and insanely overrated by fans. Not to mention the blatant desperation of the staging that got many so wet it turned the floor into a slip and slide. But Bilal was still better than this, in fact half of the NF was, and i didn't think that was on fire either. Its just a bad song, it's the step back you've taken and a horribly flawed system of choices your delegation made to get to this song.

Sorry for the multiple posts but somehow it sounds very french, it reminds me of a song that I just remembered, "Aimer" from "Roméo et Juilette", a musical comedy played in the early 2000s :
And it was very VERY popular in France, especially that song. So it reminds me of a song that is almost 20 years aged.
