This was the best song France could possibly send. Though my favorites were Australia and Hungary, France would have been a very worthy winner as well.

Honestly, if this song can't win, I don't think France can ever win again due to corrupt voting.

Hopefully this will open some eyes back home with the French broadcaster. A competent song and singer who pulled through in the end -- best result for France in years and well-deservedly so.

Félicitations à la France! This is to be continued..... I have high hopes for next year!
It must be such a relief after the bad results from the former years.

They shot themselves in the foot and cost themselves dearly but considering how negative it was this past week 6th isn't too shabby even if expectations were higher

Amir was most definitely a move in the right direction so better luck next year France!

France was my favorite, but even I knew Amir was losing steam.

Otherwise, France should be really proud: yes, it wasn't what they expected, but at the very least, they actually got its best placing since 2009.

To me, it seems that while still struggling, for now they seem to have step in in the right direction: they picked a good singer, with a good song, but they had troubles with the staging.

They have 2/3 of really having a contender, I just hope the French delegation learn from the good ("Hey: who knew that if you send a good singer with a current sounding song you can actually make it to the top 10?") and the bad (A better staging: I don't mean over-the-top special effects, but watch the last winners, and see they were not only good songs, but very visually engaging too).

Only? Best result in years, you should be very happy!
I definitely am very happy with the 6th rank. a little bit disappointed as I expected more but believe me, to heard of the contest on all the french tv channels, is something huge, the last time it happened was maybe with Amina back in the 90s, so yes, i'm disappointed but i'm also very happy ;)

bittersweet, deserved results but outside top 5.
I just hope that they understand and get what eurovision is and that France is now an "eurovision" country as Sweden or Russia are with a good song each year that deserves to be in the top 10

Finally some justice for France. I wasn't a big dan of the song from the beginning but little by little it caught me... Great to see one of my favourite countries in ESC doing well!

Our best placement since 2002 !!!! i'm so happy !!! i know it's thanks to the new system but we broke our points record, 147 in 1976, 257 in 2016, broken even by one point with just the jury vote. The only dispointement is to miss the top 5 by only 4 points....

Now, France tv know what they need to have good result, another song like "j'ai cherché" in 2017 + a better staging, and all is possible. :)

I am thrilled for Amir, I was pleasantly surprised to see him do so well with the juries. Nathalie André, Edoardo Grassi and the whole French team should be proud of what they've done, I can only imagine they will have big shoes to fill next year!

His song will still be a huge part of my playlist, and I do recommend his album to everyone - it is really good.

Don't get at all what people saw in this one :? Those repetitive falsettos were quite annoying in fact.
