The only one that I don't like from those 3 is Ma Liberte. That doesn't make me to want to hear it again.

Quite an group of interesting options...

* "Ma Liberté" sounds like a cool power ballad, but a little generic for my taste.

* "Sans Toi" seems a little "boyish", too juvenile but not that bad at all. I could see this actually achieving kind of a good place.

* However, "Moustauche" is my favorite by FAR. I like the modern, hip, alternativish vibe and sound. I love when a country sends something different to Eurovision and it's a song I can see having appeal to people outside the contest fandom.

"Sans toi" sounds more like Westlife then it does One Direction. If people weren't so quick to jump the gun they would realize that

It's easy to tell cause it sounds like easy listening safe for teen girls and grandmas  and not the sexist your ugly I'm not but you can be my girlfriend anyway **** xpuke

Whatever, i hate Westlife as well

I thought that Destan's song will be similar to songs of 1D or THE WASTED :p but this is so similar to austrian entry from ESC 2004 :p boring, boring, boring :p

"Moustache" can do great in the televote but I don't see a jury voting for it at all :( A song like "Je Vais Très Bien" would have had a better chance with them but "Moustache" is just too out there unless they somehow surprise me xpray. Also is there a French word for Moustache or is that it? It makes me laugh hearing all those French words and then suddenly the word Moustache in English

"Sans toi" sounds great for a boyband song and pop ballad :). It reminds me of the boyband ballads of the 90s instead of the sexist One Direction trash of today xpuke. The English lyrics are decent and don't sound too cringe but I hope they are convinced to sing fully in French, it sounds more romantic . I do think its probably the best bet France has to getting out of the bottom of the scoreboard. Safe enough for the jury and friendly for the televoters as well xshrug. Some people here are going to trash them cause their a boyband but the rest of Europe won't really care. Only question is how good are their live vocals xthink

I already gave my opinion on Joanna so I won't say it again although after hearing all the clips it is the weakest. I think Joanna can score well with the jury but I think the song has a limit with the televoters and can only go so high. The music just doesn't soar enough to be compared to the more successful ESC ballads xdoh

Song wise I will most likely enjoy "Moustache" the most but Eurovision wise I think "Sans toi" is the best bet. I know there shouldn't be a difference but the reality is there is one and that must be taken into consideration. Its pretty clear the broadcaster has taken it more to heart this year to be more ESC friendly :)

xrofl3 Moustache is the word in French also ! :)

BTW, I agree with what you say... Well, we'll see on Sunday.
They showed the advertising for the program, we could have a short snippet of live sessions, everyone sounded quite good. :)
Anyway, this bunch is really weak, it's really a shame on us... :(

I'm still xrofl3 over the Moustache thing, it felt like it came out of nowhere after all that French

Its good to know you think everyone sounded good xsalute. I like all the songs as songs but as Eurovision entries I'm not so sure xshrug

I have also learned online that you seem to have different views of what's big in France then other French posters I have seen online . When you said that only old people watch/listen those channels/stations connected to the final they said that was wrong and that they were the biggest stations and highest viewing! And when you said that the show the final is being held on got low ratings other French posters were quick to say that was not true and in fact it was the opposite . I'm so confused xrofl3

Really ! But it's obvious that France 3 has low ratings. Eurovision isn't even held on the biggest public channel...
But you can trust me anyway !

As for the Moustache, it sounds like it comes in the middle of nowhere in French as well, as he says before "I want this I want that, There is never enough for me, It's like this, it's like that, There is always something I haven't got... MOUSTACHE" !

Don't worry I trust you, you were right about the songs ;)

The translation xrofl3, I'm guessing there won't be any fake moustaches at the national final then like Sebastian Teller and his backing singers with fake beards . Make it even funnier like everytime they sing "There is always something I haven't got... MOUSTACHE!" someone tears it off

I want Sans Toi. Moustache sounds too 'French' to me and Ma Liberte is very generic.

I am positively surprised by France so far this year. A 30 second snippet doesnt say it all about a song - far from it - but it does give a hint of the whole song!
France will choose between three rather different songs. And they all are quite good, it seems. There is no "S'il fallait le faire" here, but I can live with that. Such a wonder of a song (and indeed performance) is rare.

Sans Toi seems to be a quite likable boy-band pop-song.
Ma Liberte I guess is a standard ballad (although I dont like the lyrics in this snippet - too qliche).
Moustache is clearly my favourite so far! Sounds quite contemporary and french (correct me if I am wrong; because I am not at all very familiar with contemporary french music lol).

I am just hoping that the live performances of the songs are up to it. I dont know any of the artist - do they sing/perform well live?? So many good songs have been destroyed by a bad performance through the years of ESC.

At least, these are the 5 :fr: best selling singles this week...

#1 Indila - Dernière Danse

#2 Maître Gims - Zombie

#3 Jabberwocky feat. Elodie Wildstars - Photomaton

#4 Cats on trees - Sirens call

#5 Julien Doré - Paris-Seychelles

I think it gives a perfect picture of the :fr: actual stage and what French people actually listens to... :)

Oh god the first 3 are just amazing, any of these is 1000 times better than the 3 contestants put together.
Thanks! xlove

After the snippets, "Sans toi" seems to be the best choice. It looks a nice song, not too teenager as other boybands.

Good thing that I don't speak french, then. The tune is enjoyable, but the lyrics are terrible.
