Dear Forum members,

we want to inform you that we have composed and written a song for Anggun to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 for France. Sadly we have lost its chorus. If anyone finds it, or if they find a chorus which fits well with the song, they may contact us by dialing the number 0256035. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the missing chorus is one of the many, many reasons why your fellow forum member Salmon doesn't like this song, and he gave it three points in the poll only because of the French parts. Once again, we're sorry but we need to find that chorus before the deadline for sending the songs to the EBU ends!

Yours sincerely,
the French songwriters

Another average song. All 5 songs chosen so far are average at best. I couldn't even rank them if I had to cause they are all equally okay to me.

I gave 7 points in the poll.
As I actually said, quite nice song, but not as good as others (f.e. Cyprus + Switzerland this year).

For me it really doesn't stand out with anything...not loving, nor hating it. 4 pts for now..

Hm, don't really know what to make of this song. Don't hate it, don't love it, I'll stick to indifferent for the moment.

Im very impressed France, it's not anything like France has sent before. It is my favourite right now, I dont think it will be by May, but it's still very good. I wont vote in the poll until we hear all the entries, but atm Id say 7/8 points! :D

I LOVE the song. I think this song isn't just a love song. It is a message for Europa.

Here's the full lyric (French & English translation):

You and I
You and I

Quelque part on s’égare
Un jour au-delà on se retrouvera

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I

J’entends l’écho de nos pas qui se balancent
Çà et là, toujours sur la même dance
On avance, mais on court après quoi?

On se perd, on s’espère
Quelque part on s’égare
Un jour au-delà on se retrouvera

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I
There is you and I
There is you and I

J’entends l’écho de ta voix s’éloigner de moi
L’écho d’un amour un jour reviendra
Il m’entraîne et je cours après toi

On se perd, on s’espère
Quelque part on s’égare
Un jour au-delà on se retrouvera

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I

(English translation)

I hear the echo of our steps always in rhythm
Marching, never in the same direction
We are moving forward, but what are we running after?

I hear the echo of our dreams, of our desires
From day to night
It drives us, and what are we running after?

We get lost, we hope
We got lost somewhere
Someday we will find ourselves again

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I

I hear the echo of our steps that move
Here and there, always in the same dance
We are moving forward, but what are we running after?

We get lost, we hope
We got lost somewhere
Someday we will find ourselves again

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I

I hear the echo of your voice that moves away from me
The echo of a love will one day return
It drives me and I am running after him

We get lost, we hope
We got lost somewhere
Someday we will find ourselves again

In my dreams, in my dreams
In my heart, in my mind
I see you and I, there is you and I

I think that's the typical classic French-songwriters do. The chorus sometimes blend with the song. i.e "Let It Be Me" (Elvis Presley) originally french song "Je t'appartiens", we couldn't precisely sense where the reffrain part, but that's still a great song. There is no law or pattern in composing music if the outcome is still beautiful.

Ok, now I know I officially don't like it :p

I agree with Matt actually, nothing has stood out yet. We don't yet have that almost universally popular song that will be a strong contender.

For me it's a unique song. Whereas everybody loves ballads or usual beat/uptempo songs (or something like that) this entry is totally different from any other. The vocal is very strong and the melody is fun but still classy. And the most important thing is it got me addicted. I cant stop my self to hear the song again and again.
I think France really really takes a risk and not play safe like other countries. For that, I give credit for France and Anggun. Bravo!!!!
Douze points for France.

It's a mess. It's confusing. What are the first 10 seconds? Then it changes rhythm twice again. Plus the chorus is not strong enough. I'm sorry but at first listen (and this will count for most voters) it's just not good enough.

Not a fan of multi-language entries. Stick to one language. Don't care which one, just make up your mind!

Musical wise, this song is just...weird. Neither good or bad, just... weird. 3 points I guess?
