Partizan - Lokomotiva Moscow 0-1

Even despite this defeat, the play that we showed was surprisingly good for this stage. Even though Lokomotiva is stronger than us, we were controlling the match for nearly 60 minutes and we were pressing them on the entire field, which I really didn't expect. Unfortunately, we got the goal after the first shot on it and it was enough for the victory of Lokomotiva. We need to improve the realization as when we create 4 or 5 great chances against a stronger rival, at least one of them has to end in the net, as we can't expect 10 chances against the team like Lokomotiva.

We did lose, but this is quite, quite promising and I am satisfied.

:ro: Petrolul Ploiesti is our next rival.

Nikola Gulan (Fiorentina) and Filip Malbašić (Hoffenheim) are the new players of Partizan.

Gulan has already played in Partizan in the season 2007/2008, but moved to Fiorentina after only 6 months and this will be his return to Partizan. He will sign a contract on three years. Tbh, I am not too happy with this.

As for Malbašić, this is definetly a good transfer, and a player that I wanted to see in Partizan even while he was still playing for Rad, although he is only borrowed to us for 1 year :( But we have the option to buy him, when this period expires.

Yet another great test match against good rival from :ro: . I expect to see the newcomers: Lukač, Gulan and Malbašić in action, as well as the returning Aksentijević :D

Thanks :D Lokomotiva Moscow was too strong for us at this point (even though I am very satisfied with most things that I saw in that match despite the defeat. We need to fix some mistakes in the defense though as that needs to be better), but Petrolul is a rival where can show what we've done so far in the preparations in a better way :D

Hopefully we help you by beating them today :D

I am still searching for a webcast, so that I can watch the duel, but can't find the link :(

Partizan 1:0 Petrolul

We managed to defeata great team totally deserved :D I managed to watch the match, and I am very, very positively surprised about almost everything that I saw.

Partizan was completely dominating this match, and in the first half we had 10 scoring chances, while Petrolul had only one half-chance, and that was everything they managed to do on the whole match. If the efficiency was better (that is the thing we need to work on), the victory would've been bigger and with more goals in Petrolul's net. We are constantly playing a high pressing, and that is something that we didn't use to do before, and that is what our coach Vuk Rašović is forcing obviously. He is leading these matches with such a huge energy, I am really amazed. I knew that he was a great coach even before he came (that is why I wanted him ever since almost 2 years ago), but now when I see what he is doing with the team he is definetly a Mourinho for our circumstances.

Tbh, I expected more from Petrolul, but still there are several interesting players that I liked yesterday. At one point they were very nervous and wanted to fight with our players, which was refused. In the end, I am glad that everything ended in a fair and sportish way.

Here is the goal from the match and the most interesting moments :

Partizan 2:2 Metalist Kharkiv

Yet again a very good play from our side and very dominant in some 60 minutes. Especially considering the fact that this was actually the strongest rival along with Lokomotiva Moscow. The only thing I am not satisfied with is a tendency for stupid mistakes in the defense, and that costed us these 2 goals that we received. We had a lead two times and then we got the goals from own mistakes.

I think that the right side is especially problematic, as Miljkovic, even though I don't like him was very good in defense, while Aksentijevichas great offensive characteristics, is very explosive and fast, but his returning to defense is very poor and serious opponents like Metalist know how to punish that. I am sure that Rasovic sees all this just like i see it, and that we are going to work on that. I think Aksentijevic would work better on a right wing, and we should hire a right back who is good in defense (since his alternative Pauljevic is the same profile like Aksentijevic).

We need a DMC and right back as soon as possible.

Lukac debtted as goalie of Partizan and judging this first match, we don't need to worry about the goalie :D Malbasic also played quite well in his first match, and Nemanja Kojic, who is very underestimated as an attacker here (and for which I was saying since the begininng that he is a great player. Even while he played for Rad I wanted him to come to Partizan) was the best player of the team.

We are going to play two more matches and then the season can start with the CL qualification matches against :am: Shirak :D

Legia Warszawa 2-1 Partizan

I didn't watch the match, since there was no webcast available, but according to the reports, Legia completely deserved the victory. Unfortunately those mistakes in the defense still happen. Especially on the right side. Hopefully we find some solution for it.
Today, we are playing against :at: Austria Wien for the third place on the tournament.

After Nicusor Stanciu (SC Vaslui) and Florin Nita (Concordia Chiajna), Federico Piovaccari from Sampdoria is Steaua's newest aquisition. He scored 7 goals in Serie B last seson, so I think he is a good player!

Also, Steaua finished the 2nd training stage in :uk: with this results:

Steaua - Livingston 4 - 1

Steaua - Notts County 2 - 0

Steaua - Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 1

On the other hand, "U" Cluj won the trial against FRF and received the right to play in Liga 1 next season. So, in order to fill an empty spot in Liga 1, FRF decided that a match betwen Rapid Bucharest and Concordi Chiajna will be held.

Partizan - Austria Wien 1:2

Yet again, very good play and a domination on the field, and two silly goals in the net. The first one was gotten after a......well, very suspicious penalty, but the second one was a result of two silly mistakes in the defense after the corner kick. I don't know why season after season we get such idiotic goals, but I hope that we filled the quota of silly goals for this half-season at least

I am very satisfied with the play, especially in the attack, as we don't complicate much and the ball is circulating quite fast, but the realization is still not good. We had a 1-on-1 situation with goalie and missed. Such chances must turn into goals and they are punished when they are missed. The defense without Ivanov is very weak, and I still think that we need a signing on the right back position as well as on the position of DMC. Those spots are the weakest.

This was probably our last test match, so the next one we are going to play will be against :am: Shirak in the Champions League qualifications.

You have a derby in the 4th round :D xcheers

That is awesome. I would love to see one derby with Zvezda in the first couple of rounds here as well :D

It would especially be epic to have derby in the first round  Zvezda didn't win a match in the 1st round for ..........many years, so that would be awesome for us

Last year they postponed the first round with Javor because of Guca and Ceca's concert there, and then tied in the 2nd one against 10 kids from Rad, even though the referee did everything to push them to win

The kids from Rad outplayed them in all football factors even though their best player got a red card in the 2nd minute of the match

Just one example of how cursed they are! They simply can't escape the destiny to lose points in the first match in the league no matter what

Also, if Rapid wins the play-off against Concordia Chiajna we will have a derby in the 3rd round + the match against CFR Cluj in the 5th round wich is not a derby but Steaua and CFR Cluj are the Top 2 Romanian Clubs, so it's a tough start overall. If we get 15 points in the first 5 rounds we are surely champions I must say

Romanian Supercup: Steaua Bucharest - Petrolul Ploiesti 3 - 0
Wow! I was expecting a win but not like that! We totally dominated Petrolul in the first half + a missed penalty and two one on one missed chances, so if we would've won 6-0 it would've been no surprise  In the second half we didn't play that well, but neither did Petrolul, so we started the season with a trophy! :D

Petar Grbić (Olympiakos) is the new player of Partizan! He will come here on a 1-year loan from the Greek Olympiakos. Very good player, and last year he played on a loan yet again from Olympiakos to OFK Beograd, and in both matches where OFK defeated Zvezda, he was by far the best player. He scored 4 goals against them in those two matches

Now with Grbić in, we have great combinations in the attack, as he can play on the left wing, Malbašić on the right, Ninković in the middle and one or two attackers in the front. That is how we will probably combine.

Although the defense is still a huge problem :( And if Ivanov gets sold, we will be in huge problems.

This team is enough for Shirak, but we need to improve the defense for the next challenges.

@Milos: I thought that you do have a SuperCup but because Partizan wins both the league and the Cup then you can't have the SuperCup. It would be good for Serbian football to have a SuperCup and in the case that a club wins both the league and the Cup, then the SuperCup should be held betwen the first and second placed teams in the Serbian League. Just imagine how would it be if one week before the new season starts you would have an official match betwen Partizan and Crvena Zvezda + the match has to have a winner, so it can't be a draw :D

In other news:

Concordia Chiajna - Rapid Bucharest 1 - 1, 1 - 2 A.E.T.
So, Rapid Bucharest will play in Liga 1 next seson but if they finish Top 5 or win the Cup they won't be alowed to play in European competitions. lso, Concordia Chijn is relegated to Liga 2.

^^ Actually, we didn't win the cup for 2 seasons already  :( We never beated Zvezda with a foreign coach on the bench, and so Avram Grant lost 3 times from them last year, even though we had a better team (in the cup we lost two matches with 2:0 and in the championship with 1:0). Our foreign coaches didn't realize what this derby is, and were looking at it as every other match, and derbies are NEVER the same like any other match, especially our derby is specific, and it requires a special preparation and approach in both tactical and psychological part. Derbies require mental streingh and patience, and the team can't be set so that they attack and act like flies with no head. Also, not every player can play the derby. But they didn't realize that.....

I personally figured out even in the period when Zvezda was still dominant in our football how should we set the tactics. As million times, it happened that we completely dominate in the match, play very offensive, we create one hundred chances for scoring, but they give us 2, 3 goals from the counter-attacks and that's the end. And after analyzing all that I said that we have to change the tactics in the derby, and push the team to our own half, and let them the ball possession, but block all entrances to our goal, and then at one point we strike them with high pressing. Also, this way, we are ready to catch them when they create a mistake, and that results in a scoring chance as well. They thought I didn't know what I am talking about.........

But then, our coach Jokanovic, seems to have realized this as well, and he was doing exactly what I told here! Since then, our brutal domination in the derbies began :D And his successors (Stanojevic and now Vuk Rasovic) were using this tactic as well with some mild variations (just like I would change some things now as well, as Zvezda's conception also changes, and you can't beat them on the same way every time). But as I know their team perfectly, just like our, and I know all their weaknesses (they have plenty of them) I would always know how to play the derby and win.

Last year, Vladimir Vermezovic (even though he secured Europa League, and in his previous mandate brought us one of the best club results in the recent history, by qualifying to 1/8 finals of Europa League, is the worst coach in the history of Partizan) brought out the 3rd team of Partizan (not even the second) against Borac Cacak who is now in the 2nd league, but previously they were the cup finalists (they played the final against Zvezda), and such team isn't better from Borac, so we were eliminated in the 2nd round already. It was a painfully idiotic move. However, Zvezda was also eliminated last year from OFK Beograd in the 3rd round (they beated them 2 times in 5 days    Once in the championship and after that, they kicked him out of the cup. In those two matches, our newest player Petar Grbic raped them heavily and score 4 goals against them  All goals of OFK Beograd in those matches against Zvezda were either his, or they were goals on his assists  ), and the cup final of last season was, believe it or not: Vojvodina - Jagodina

Jagodina won the cup in the end, so if we would now play a supercup, we would play against Jagodina :D But I agree that it would be epic to have a derby at the start of the season (that would be the most often case in this situation ), and that is 1 reason more I am in for introducing the Supercup :D

Ivan Ivanov has been sold to FC Basel and Partizan now needs at least one defender (we need far more than that in the defense, but this is "burning" ) to replace him.

Milan Obradovic (Metalist Kharkiv) and Novak Martinovic (now free agent) are the first two targets and it is quite realistic that both of them will sign for Partizan :D
