Nice! We will play the Supercup against them on 10th of July. Btw, every newspaper in :ro: is saying that the most dangerous teams that Steaua can meet in the UEFA Champions League play-off are Partizan and Dinamo Zagreb. I hope we won't play against Partizan though and get an easier opponenet :D

Yes, Steaua is one of our potential rivals in case we make it to the play-off, but I wouldn't like for us to play against you in the play-off, as I want both Partizan and Steaua in the CL! :D

Realistically, I think Dinamo is your hardest opponent, but then again, we don't know with which team we are going to enter the qualifications, as almost all players are put on the transfer list. We may be stronger than now, but we may be weaker too.

We usually have trouble in the 3rd round. In 2009 we were eliminated by :cy: APOEL, in 2010 we eliminated :fi: HJK Helsinki, in 2011 :be: KRC Genk eliminated us (even though we outplayed them completely in both matches), and last year :cy: AEL Limassol wrecked us completely  We lost two times with 1-0, but I had a feeling that we got like...... 10 goals in the net. They were so physically dominant in both matches, and in Belgrade we created the first scoring chance in 85th minute, even though they got a red card in the early stage of the match. We did have a moron on the bench though, but it was painful to watch

We managed to eliminate  Tromso in the Europa League playoff, and I am satisfied with how we played in the group stage. Comparing to the season two years ago when :ie: Shamrock Rovers surprised us and eliminated us, this was an advance :D I am still sad we didn't use the chance to beat :it: Inter Milano on Meacca though with their strongest team, and we had a chance for that :( That would've been epic. But as I said, that is a reality of :rs: football at the moment.

Whenever we played in the Champions League, we had a great defense. And unfortunately, we are going to have changes in that part almost certainly as Ivanov wants to go, and they will probably send him. Ivanov is our best defender and he is one of the crucial factors for these titles that we won. Stojkovic (the goalie) will also leave the club probably, and he is unrealistically good keeper for us. Which is not surprising as he is the first goalie of :rs: national team as well. I doubt that his successor will be that good even though we have talented keepers in our school.

Lazar Markovic was sold to Benfica and he was one of our best players in the last two seasons. Also one of the biggest talents in Europe currently. We had offers from Real, Arsenal, Fiorentina, Chelsea, Inter........and many other huge teams for him.

So, everything depends on the transfer period. If it goes well, we will have what to hope for :D I don't worry about our league, we will still be the best, but for something more in Europe we need improvements :D

Partizan not qualifying over Shamrock Rovers was the biggest shock in the European competitions.... Anyway, I think that except for FC Basel and Celtic, Partizan can beat any team from the first pot in the play-off :)

Anyway, I think you have escaped us, as most proably Steaua will have Fenerbahce's fate from two years ago and will be excluded from European competitions :(( Steaua's owner was sentenced yesterday to 3 years in prison because in 2008 he promissed 1,7 milion Euros to "U" Cluj players if they would win against CFR Cluj. UEFA will have a decision regarding our case by Monday. That way Pandurii Targu Jiu will go to UEFA Champions League and will be in the second pot.

There are rumors that Steaua will be relegated also and that would be horrible for the Romanian league. We already lost Rapid, ""U" Cluj and Universitatea Craiova and if Steaua will play in Liga 2 next year, Liga 2 will be more interesting to watch than Liga 1

Indeed, and it is the biggest disgrace in our history  unfortunately we have this bad side in our mentality that if we lose chances for something that we originally plan, then we are playing for that "satisfactory, but less valuable prize" without any motivation. That happened a lot of times to :rs: national team in all sports a lot of times, and is generally our trade mark. We had like 25 scoring chances against Shamrock in both matches, but we were missing even those "harder to miss than to score" situations, and the Rovers felt that they can surprise, even though they were outsiders and deserved that victory.

Also, the players understemiated them. They were quite tricky that year, I remember how FC Copenhagen barely passed over them, and in the EL they were leading against the strongest team of Tottenham. Their style is quite unusual, and teams that are technically trained have problems with that. It is some sort of a modification of typical island soccer with a lot of long balls.

My opinion is nearly the same, although we are not in the favorites in that section, no matter who our rival will be (if we manage to get to the play-off). Although, there are some tricky teams that we can get in the 2nd round too. For example :hu: Győri ETO. They won the title now, and since they managed to leave the team like Videoton behind, they are definetly a good team. Also :bg: Ludogorec. They are much much stronger than all teams that we can face in the 2nd round (if we exclude Győri ), and they are objectively a team who deserves far more than that. Dinamo Zagreb barely passed them last year, I watched the second match. They had luck, and a lot of it. Those two teams I would like to avoid.

Then again, almost everybody thought that :be: RSC Anderlecht will trash us 3 years ago, but we managed to eliminate them and enter the Champions League :D

I sincerely hope that Steaua will not face the relegation and that you will not be excluded from the European championships. These things are being done by everyone in the soccer world. Who knows how much of that is being done here in :rs: but UEFA didn't make an investigation yet. And I hope that we will watch both Steaua and Partizan in the Champions League xcheer xcheers :D

The thing is really bad here! There is a phone conversation betwen the former owner of "U" Cluj and the owner of Steaua in wich, the former owner of "U" Cluja says that CFR Cluj offered them 1 million Euros to let them win the match and he is asking how much will Steaua pay them TO PLAY FAIR. The Romanian Federation declared Steaua as clean, but the civil law decided it was corruption. So, if you pay a team to play correct you go 3 years in prison

The bad thing is that UEFA ruled out Steaua and Fenerbahce from their list today and they will not visit our stadiums until the process is finished :((

We had cases like that here as well. I really can't say if Partizan was doing it, as I don't have informations about that (I wouldn't exclude it though, objectively), but I do know that Zvezda was paying several teams that played against us to "die on the field" before the matches. If there would be a UEFA investgation about this, it could happen that almost entire 1st league would be imprisoned and/or relegated

UEFA itself is not completely clean either (soccer has become one of the most profitable businesses in the world, so it is interesting to many people who deal with illegal activities in general), and there could be something else as an extra reason for all this.

I really wish you to avoid all possible sanctions :D xcheers

Also, a tragic news from :rs: A president of Vojvodina , Ratko Butorovic, is found dead in his hotel this morning :( Even though he was one of the biggest criminals in :rs: involved in.........well, who knows how many things, I am, of course, sorry for him as a person. After all, the wife has now lost her husband, and the children lost their father. Vojvodina was a very good team, and he lifted them to a whole new level. The only team that we had many problems with were them. This season they outplayed and beated both us and Zvezda on our own fields. They even had a team ready to attack the title, even though Butrovic was only trying to make money this way. I think this is a heavy loss for them, and I also think that they will now be in a very critical situation, as Vojvodina without Butorovic will not be the same.

I didn't know that he called Mutu to a party after that match  Last season they hired Stephen Appiah, and it was a huge transfer bomb, and unbelievable that such huge star comes to play for Vojvodina in the :rs: league. And Appiah said, during the promotion, that as soon as he saw Butorovic he saw something special that he didn't see in any president before, and that's why he signed  :D

As I said, I heard all kinds of things about his illegal activies, all being from people who live in Novi Sad, but one thing is undeniable, and that is that he was a very charismatic personality and someone who gave brighter colors to our soccer. Vojvodina was in very critical moments before he came, and from the bottom, he made them one of the best teams in :rs: . He never wanted to sell a player to us or Zvezda, and they have a couple of outstanding players for our surrounding. I liked his philosophy completely.

If I could now make a transfer list wishes, I would put at least 5 players from Vojvodina on it. They also have some great young players like Radoja and Poletanovic and they are the future of :rs: soccer.

For a couple of years already, I believe that Vojvodina is a much bigger rival to us than Zvezda. In the season 2010/11 when we played in the Champions League they beated us 3 times. 3:1, 2:0 and 1:0 and in the last couple of matches even though we beated them, they had periods where they would trap us in our 16 m with their high pressing and we couldn't cross a half. Now with Marko Nikolic as a coach, we should be extra careful.

Zvezda has serious chances to be third next season. If they didn't have a support of the referees and the government last season they would be 4th-5th. They lost from us, Vojvodina (two times with 3:0  ), Spartak Zlatibor Voda (again 3:0), OFK Beograd (1:0 and 3:1), etc.......and all those teams are in the upper half. Now they signed one player Djordje Rakic who plays the attacker, and he scored 1 goal last season for Munchen 1860  I hope they keep on with these great reinforcements :D

I hope that the decision will be positive and I cross my fingers xcheers

Milan Lukač (previously a goalie of OFK Beograd) is a new goalie of Partizan! He signed a 3 year long contract and he will be a change for Vladimir Stojković, our standard keeper until now, and the standard keeper of :rs: national team as well, who has now moved to the Turkish Konyaspor.

Lukač will have his promotion on the Partizan's stadium tomorrow.

I am quite satisfied. The best keeper in the league after Stojković, so he deserved a spot in Partizan. :D

And we lost our top scorer, Raul Rusescu, who placed 28 goals last season (21 in Liga 1 and 7 in UEFA Europa League). He was sold to FC sevilla for 2.5 milion Euros. I am happy for him but it will be very hard for us next season :(

In other news, it seems like Jose Mourinho has a grudge against us and I don't know why, as 3 years ago when he visited :ro: he was invited by Steaua's owner at the palace. I think it's either because when Real Madrid wanted a friendly against Steaua, we asked for 2 milion Euros, or because we declined a 8 milion Euros offer from Real Madrid for Vlad Chiriches. The thing is that he gave some weird statements like:

"Winning UEFA Europa League is not a big achievement by Rafa Benitez. In that competition you play against clubs like Steaua Bucharest and Rubin Kazan, clubs wih you will never see in UEFA Champions League."

Then he said: "Fernand Torres doesen't convince me. He scored a goal against Steaua Idontknowhat in Europe and that's it"

May I remind him that when we won the UEFA Champions League he was just an anounymous player for Comercio e Industria in :pt:?

We also lost one of the best players in this transfer period, as Lazar Markovic moved to Benfica :( He had offers from Arsenal, Inter, Ajax, Chelsea, and even from Real Madrid, and the club could not keep him. Unfortunately we can't keep our young players for a longer period.

As for Mourinho, nothing surprises me from him anymore  Even though he is my favorite coach. He became like Zvezda - "all of you are s**t and we are the best in the Universe" These last days I don't need a humoristic show to make me laugh, I just open Zvezda's forum and there is plenty of material for laughing like crazy  And it gets great when they lose the match, then I prepare snacks and start reading hahahahaha  I love how megalomanic they are and how CIA, BIA, The Pope, Vatican, the aliens.........everyone is guilty for their failures, but of course not them :D But I like them that way, as if they start doubting in themselves they may solve the problem, this way "Partizan is stealing the titles that God originally destined for the pillars of Serbia" and the agony goes on and on and on......... xrofl3

Btw, Lukač was promoted yesterday:

against Steaua Idontknowhat
Sorry, but it wasn't very clever from Benitez. Maybe Steaua is not the quite strong team, but anonymous clubs don't play in round of 16 at Europa League and he should have just a bit of respect to they :?

It was Mourinho who said that, not Benitez. Benitez respects Steaua very much. As I said, I think Mourinho was very surprised last summer when he offered Real Madrid to play a friendly against Steaua, and we asked for 2 million Euros. He probably, can't take rejection very well

Anyway, not only Steaua played in the round of 16 last year, but we won UEFA Champions League in 1986 and we where finalists in 1989. We also won the European Super Cup in 1987, a trophy that Mourinho never won

On the first preparation match, Partizan easily defeated Zlatiborski okrug with 4:0

The team is moving to Slovenia for the final part of the preparations :D

Also, tomorrow we will find out our first rival in the Champions League qualifications.

In the 2nd round of qualifications for the champions League, Partizan will play against the winner of the duel :am: Shirak - :sm: Tre Penne

As Tre Penne is a completely amateurish team (with all due respect), I believe that Shirak is a favorite here, and so I expect Shirak as our rival.

I don't have much info about Shirak, but I will scout them during these days.

It's good that you have schedule. The Romanian Federation doesen't even know how many or wich are the teams that will play in Liga 1 next season, so I can't even dream about a schedule

We are using Berger's tables to determine the schedule and Partizan and Zvezda get completely different numbers meaning that, because of the huge rivalry between us, there can be no day when we play our matches on our stadiums (the same day). And the form is much-less the same, every autumn derby is played on their stadium, and the spring derby on our own, we are playing against Vojvodina in Novi Sad (one of the hardest matches in the league) usually around the 7th round etc..........and an interesting fact is that Zvezda and Vojvodina are playing in the last round for the 4th time in a row  This will, of course change, when they manage to get us off the throne, but I think that will not come that soon

They also noticed how they get Vojvodina in the last round for 4 times in a row, and that is an evidence, according to them, that Tole (the president of the football association who was previously a president of Partizan and that is why they believe he is "fixing" the titles for us     ) is stealing the titles from them, pillars of Serbia, etc............... even though I do understand that phase of paranoia in which most of them (I exclude normal Zvezda supporters who do exist) live, as I would also be devastated, if my eternal rival would dominate the sport where I was once huge for 6 years already, if they are urinating on us in basketball with +48 and taking the titles for 12 years in a row (a record in European basketball  ) now that Zvezda is basically frozen in basketball, I have to lie myself that I support Zvezda, but in fact I support the private club of a man who is accused for killing prime-minister Zoran Djindjic in 2003 and for stealing the money from Serbs on Kosovo, that in water polo I didn't see the title in 20 years etc...................all that ultra-domination of my eternal rival would create frustrations and agony in me, but some dignity at least must exist.

They asked one of them on TV two days ago "What is your biggest wish?" and he replied: "I want Partizan to be shut down, so that we can take what is rightfully ours"   Instead of watching and wishing for their club to win the CL again, they want us to disappear so that they can take the titles in peace without any rival to cross their paths. And then when I say that they hate us more than they like Zvezda, they say that I am wrong..........

Even though we are the same people, our views on sport are, generally, much, much different.
