 I can see this flopping big time. Maybe my hatred for this song clouds my judgement slightly but I do not see this being a top 10, let alone top 5.

May the Lord hear you. My interest to this song is zero.

If I had to rank the fan favorites it would probably be roughly something like

1 :se:
2. :ee:
3. :sl:
4. :es:
5. :lv:
6.
7. :it:
8. :il:
9. :be:
10. :az:

The only ones that i feel confident in placing top 10 are :se: :it: :az:.

:lv: and :il: are the only ones I find chancelss for top 10. :lv: because of the televote and :il: because of the jury.

I have no confidence in :es: for top 10 but I guess its a posibility

All the others feel iffy to me and could finish anywhere. Top 10, just outside of it or flop xshrug

There the first nomination of :se: came, I thought it was very strange and surprising that no one has mentioned us (remember last year when almost everyone thought that).

But yeah any place outside top 10 for us could be considered as a flop (especially since we are one of the hottest favorites this year)

So basically, any song anybody predicts to get anywhere in the top 25 in the final is going to be called a flop? Okeh.

Most people I talk to just find it odd, so ....

You're not talking to the right people ;)

I actually fear for Latvia not because few people like it, of course many do and many will as the song stands out on its own and has a large appeal potential, but because of Aminata's total lack of charisma. She simply does not connect in any way or form and we all know how fatal this can be in ESC.

I wouldn't say she lacks charisma but that the performance itself is supposed to be detached and kind of mysterious, which in my opinion works wonderfully, but I can see where you are coming from.

I expect Goodbye to Yesterday finish somewhere between Rändajad/Kuula and Et uus saaks alguse. So 6th to 20th. But I guess most of you would consider that to be a flop.

The right people
= eurovision fans? :p it's true though... I talked to "civilians", but they might still be voting though.

This is true, I think it will look good on TV as well, as mysteriousity will work better there. She won't need any connection with anyone except the cameras ;)

My opinon is changing every few days, but by now I have the feeling that :az: won't place as well as many people expect. It's because of Elnurs strange live performance which doesn't really fit to the studio version. I also liked his song at the beginning, but now I'm just confused because of the live version. The turkish people may still like it, but I'm not sure about the others, especially in western europe.

I also see :ee: in danger. in comparison with  , Debrah & Kjetil definitely are the better performers and I think that they could really appeal to the broad audience! So estonia may get lost...

:il: isn't doing well in the odds at all and I can see why. I don't think they have a chance at qualifying.

Do you honestly think Latvia's song is your typical eurovision song, favoured by eurovision fans? I can't see it like that.
Curiously, I can't see Slovenia or Estonia in that light either, you wouldn't think any of them might become a fan favourite. I can tell in all truth though it's the first time I embark on a fan wagon as I was never keen on other ones from previous years.

:lv: I guess remains a fan favorite but its a poor 19th in the betting. I think it will either fail in the semi or make the final and finish bottom 5. I think making the final will be victory enough for its fans even if it does flop in the final.

No, i'm going to be seriously irked if Latvia doesn't storm into the final and make top 5 at the very least. This is not a Valentina Monetta case here where reaching the final is a victory in itself. "Love Injected" is fresh, poignant and the best piece of music of the year by a mile (in my opinion). I'm not going to accept just reaching the final. It needs to reach the final and do very well. It's got plenty of passionate, vocal supporters but i'm perplexed as to why it's doing so poorly in the betting odds and isn't right at the top of the fan favourites. Oh well, I shall believe in it like I believed in "Suus"xheat

I actually came in here expecting people to say Malta, so am surprised not to see a single mention. I suppose it needs to be a fan favourite first though for it to be considered flop worthy:rolleyes:

Can we call The Netherlands a fan favourite? Just about maybe!? Yes, ok GOOD cause that's flopping big time I think. They won't reach the final and I have visions of them possibly coming dead last in their semi. I can't see any of the big, big favourites flopping. Slovenia I believe won't do as well as expected though, just missing the top 10. Norway could go either way but I wouldn't like to predict which way. It will make the final though most likely. I don't think any of the most hyped songs this year are in any real trouble. Norway and Estonia (and whatever other duets that reach the final) could kill each other though.

:ee: flopping??? No way!!
Estonia will not be out of top 10. This is VERY far from being only a "fan-wank" or a "fan-favourite". I dont see anything typical eurovision-friendly in this song. This did very well in Estonia. It is written by one of the singers. It's solid work. Maybe Stig didnt give the performance of a life time in the NF - but that is not enough for me to predict a failure. He must do MUCH worse in vienna to ruin Estonias chances.
I think GTY will appeal to a broad specter of televoters, in all parts of Europe. I am sure the juries will put this very high as well.

RainyWoods, you always make for the most interesting read ever, but what the heck!, how can anyone consider The Netherlands a fan favourite? Who favours it? There's absolutely no maye about it. Sure, it's a nice, singalong, innofensive piece, but the woman's over forty (something eurovision is quite ruthless about, unless it's some sort of classy number, which this isn't) and I don't think the why ai ai goes quite so smoothly live. She's in with a slight chance because the song is catchy first time, but I really don't think she'll do it. Of course it's going to stay in the semi and I can't see anybody getting too upset about it.
