One month to go so I think it´s about time to start a thread about which country/countries that are favorites that you think will flop at this years ESC.

I begin to say that the countries i´m a bit worried about is :ee: and :sl:

for :ee:, it´s a very good song, but Stieg didn´t sound very well in the national final, if he not approves in Vienna, that can be a disaster for :ee:

:sl: was a very hot favorite not to long ago but it has starten to cool down a bit, the key here is the stage performance that needs to be very good, otherwise we might have a new ":de: 2013" here.

What do you think?

Ok. My predictions.

:ee: Will flop, I don't see it being in the Top 5.
:sl: Will flop and be just outside the top 10.
:es: I'm not sure how well this will do, it could go either way and fall flat on its face or do really well.
 I can see this flopping big time. Maybe my hatred for this song clouds my judgement slightly but I do not see this being a top 10, let alone top 5.

I also see Slovenia not finishing in the top 10....more likely to finish 15-18 I think.

My predictions:

:sl: Nowadays I can't see it in the top 10. It will probably do well with the juries but I'm not sure about the televoting.
:es: I am realistic and I don't think we will reach the top 10 this year. Maybe I've been influenced by the huge number of criticisms, and although I think it's a great entry my hope is drifting. I really hope they deliver an unforgettable performance in May.
:ee: It will probably be in the top 10 but a top 5 is not likely to happen.
:uk: It will do worse than last year, I expect a bottom 4. It can be the "Moustache" of the year.
:az: I'm not sure about that, and maybe I am influenced by how much I dislike the song, but unless they deliver a great performance the song itself is not a top 10 material. Anyway, it's Azerbaijan, so who knows...

:es: is definitely a fan favorite but its 12th in the betting so its not really a hot betters favorite. I don't even think it will finish that high either, perhaps around 17th xshrug

:lv: I guess remains a fan favorite but its a poor 19th in the betting. I think it will either fail in the semi or make the final and finish bottom 5. I think making the final will be victory enough for its fans even if it does flop in the final.

:ee: is one of the top 3 fan favorites and currently 4th in the betting although it appears to have lost some momentum. I don't think it will do as well as fans hope. I predict around 6-12 in the final

:sl: is along with :ee: one of the top 3 fan favorites of the year and is currently 7th in the betting. However its been drifting ever since Amsterdam and I suppose it will continue to do so. I think this one will be the biggest disappointment for fans although I think some are starting to feel it coming xshrug

I don't think anybody actually thinks :lv: will do well except the few of us who are frantically trying to reassure each other that it will qualify :(

After hearing :az: live, I think they will get another unimpressive result. Elnur is a rather odd live performer and I'm not sure first-time viewers, especially from countries that don't consistently vote for Azerbaijan, will be instantly enamoured with him.

i don't think :ee: will do as well as people are expecting, and i'm also a little worried for :al: after her x factor performance and albania's track record of mediocre staging.

I'd say ... :sl: or :ee: (typical fanwanks - both are more middle of the road)
But it could also be ... :es: :al: (I'm worried about their performance) or :it: (will not appeal to a wide audience)

I genuinely think it will do well and I'm not the only one. There is no chance Latvia fails to qualify this year.

I'm really worried that you're right about that.

I think you are all underestimating Slovenia's and Estonia's possibilities in this contest, dismissing them too easily and too quickly. They are not simple fanwank examples as there have been many in the past, they are genuinely good, interesting songs that should do well, provided of course staging and performances go smoothly for them.

I know Slovenia is losing a bit of its momentum, but we have all been listening to it for a long time, while the vast majority of voters and jurors will be listening for the first time then. I know it's unlikely, but I honestly think pulling a Lena is still in the realms of the physically possible :)

Top 10 in the betting odds are:
:se: - this wont flop, will be 100% in top 5
:it: - could flop, this genre hasnt ever done good, but this is Italy ofc
:au: - the most overrated for me, no friendly voting to help them, song is decent but nothing special, will flop I predict
:ee: - atm a flop for me, but if they will improve their live, then an easy top 5 for us I predict
:fi: - televote will have them high, all down to juries if they flop or not
:ru: - like Sweden, easy top 5
:sl: - could flop, but i think they will do top 10
 - will be top 10 definitely, zero chance of flopping
:az: - top 8 at least definitely
:is: - I think it wont flop, around 8-12 place I predict

I don't think the Estonian song is that good at all anyway. And even if we assume it is since when did having a decent song give any guarantees? The Estonian song is all about the performance (the vocal) and not much else. Even if the Estonian song ended up winning that still wouldn't convince me it was any good.

I think these might flop. But I really hope the two last ones won't.

:ee: - it's good, but it comes across as pretty boring too.
 - same as above, and I'm also not very sure about her vocals live, she seems to be out of pitch sometimes.
:sl: - I thought all my non-eurovision fan friends would love it, but no. So getting a bit worried.
:lv: - I love it, but most people don't seem to
