finland trying the thin ice experience? (4 from 7 out and still no banger.)
i love good ballads but no.4 is an average one - finland has also wasted already 2 very good ballads in this decade - 2021 from finlands point of view for a good reason but not in 2022 (together with the younghearted) - ESC-life is hard sometimes. xstarsxcheers

I love ballads and i like the song but its not anything special. I just thought how moved i was by Lxandras Song in 2023 (which ended up last in the televoting) and emotionally this is nowhere even close

I don't know if it has to do with the sound mix, but I can't cope with Viivi's S sounds.

"Aina" is my favorite UMK25 song so far this year. And I think this could get a great result at Eurovision if they deliver the right packaging for it. Less is more and I love that everything in this song get´s the chance to breath and evolve without interuption.
It instantly connected with me and so far it´s only gotten stronger with each listen. I´m so thankful that this is a part of UMK. hred

10 Points from me xheya

"Aina" is so haunting... xcry

It has some melancholy I adore in it..it grabs me so hard! It gives me some warmth and coldness at the same time...I can't describe this..Vocal in the chorus becomes rockish, and it is so non typical, LOVE IT!

And seeing @RainyWoods reaction to my post about it and feeling "in the air" how much he likes this one at the same time, brings me back to some amazing days on this forum...xcry xlove xheart

"Aina" will be a GEM of 2025 NF season for sure, I already know that.. xheart

Pity @mauve is not haunted by it.. :(

Vivi made me comment on this topic for the first time; it’s definitely already a GEM for me. hblue

After three "meh" songs, thank you, Finland, for making my night better.

I'm sorry but I have no choice but to stan here. Aina is magnificent. Ok, it's a ballad and one that's been done to death at the contest, but when you're doing it this well, and the instrumental is THIS good, builds that well. I don't mind taking a big spoonful of basic when it's all so lush and beautiful.

Hitaammin hautaan is probably still my favourite (I've been spamming it on repeat) but Aina would make a lovely choice. I think we all know what's going to happen though. This is Finland so it's probably going to be the band, no matter what they've brought, unless Erika absolutely brings her A+++ game.

Every UMK 2025 song that has been released so far is rather underwhelming tbh

Are there any UMK experts out there who could say something about the people behind the UMK? My impression is that the increasing success of UMK was built on a few strong producers that improved the entries massively from the beginning of the 2020's, both visually, melodically and production wise. Maybe those people are not there anymore, and that's why we've seen this evident drop in quality after 2023. Or is it just "coincidence"?

Finally a good song in UMK this year! Beautiful power ballad from Viivi. xcheer

Everything about is really pretty. Her voice is so unique and only adds to it. hred

As far as recent-ish Finnish NF ballads go it doesn't top Ilta or Younghearted but I might put it just ahead of Paskana. Most memorable melody in the selection thus far. This should create a moment on stage at NF.

Reading into some of the symbolism of Aina and it only makes me appreciate the concept in the video more. 🌸
