Come on world, wake up and smell the flower garland - Cicciolina is life and I don't want to know a world without it at Eurovision in May! I got the same feeling when I first heard Spirit In The Sky last year, just utter unabashed glee for the perfection that graced my ears

Looking Back sounds like that song which ends up beating my super fave in a selection followed by me writing a large shade post about it whilst wishing a swarm of locust upon the country of the song in question's people. It genuinely terrifies me.

I still stand by what I said about Bananas. That was meant for our NF or possibly the comic relief in Denmark, but here it is bold as brass in Finland. It's an absolute no. For me it's charmless and dopey. File it next to a beige coloured Crazy Frog with the wiener censored. One of the most unappealing songs and packages of this NF season.

That Bananas review I honestly don't have a particular preference out of the four songs revealed so far, apart from "oh god please not Bananas have mercy on me Satan". I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my thoughts on the song.

As for Looking Back... I'm in half a mind to hope that it wins just to see how your swarm-of-locusts shade would play out. I remember a similar situation happening with the UK NF, the Romanian one and a couple of others last year, where some big fan favourite lost to a pile of meh but I didn't have a strong preference either way so I just sat back with the popcorn

Putting the devil on my shoulder aside for a second though, I'm supporting Cicciolina for now. In all honesty, I feel like I really should enjoy it more; especially given that as an over-the-top hunk of cheese it should be right up my alley. Five or so listens in and I'm enjoying it, but I'm not yet super-excited. That said, I'm happy to support it all the way, given that it's clearly the most unique choice here and I'd like to see its fans happy should it get through.

...On second thought, I've always had terrible luck with Finnish NFs; I've been following UMK since 2013 and I don't think my favourite has ever won (unless you count the Saara Aalto mini-NF in 2018). So if my curse holds up, maybe I should support Looking Back after all to stop it from winning and help out the Cicciolina fans.

YLE should change the selection format and let Erica perform Cicciolina in 6 different iconic outfits and staging ideas, and we get to choose the most epic one. The remaining 5 candidates can be on the jury pannel, too, if they want to stay relevant and included in the NF.
