I just listened for the first time to this song. The singer has a clear and pure voice. The music has a good buildup. It's a nice pop song. But when the chorus comes, it becomes a little too chaotic. But I like the parts between the chorus.

Good summary. It's the good buildup and those parts between the chorus that make this song qualify - but those "chaotic" parts and the chorus are the reasons why the final position will be about 20th.

20th position: maybe yes, maybo no. It's difficult to predict the final position, there are tops and flops and always surprises. :-)

Seriously, if :fi: is not above the 15th rank, and way above, it will be a huge joke.
Their interpretation is great. The song is a real radio tune, designed to chart anywhere. And it has a hook. It's not chaotic. It's just that they make it go somewhere. Otherwise it would be accused of being bland...
And, there isn't any other real rock song this year.

If juries are serious, they will place it high as an accomplishment of real music, served by great boys.
Publi who likes rock will have to vote for this one.

So :fi: is really underrated and will do something better than what pmost of fans think. (Seriously, how can it be thought that :fi: couldn't get to the finals !  )

Well done :fi: , my favourite song of this year, and that isn't probably going to change. I've been waiting for a quality alternative rock song in esc for so long now and finally the time has come. The only point if criticism I could find, was the fact that the singer sometimes sings a little to high at the chorus for my taste.

But for the rest it is great, it reminds me of the Killers

Nobody's discussing our boring entry (and I am not really that surprised).

Maybe we should this girl next year:

Reminds me a bit of coldplay (viva la vida) - especially the background vocals in the chorus

I wonder what we have to do to strike up discussion, because this is the best package we've sent since Lordi. It's a contemporary song that's very well made, and yet it seems largely forgotten. Still, what needs to be remembered is that the majority of viewers will not have heard any songs in advance (unless they're a radio hit in the viewer's country).

On the contrary, with no buzz before the contest there's no hype in people's minds - media coverage during the contest week is in many countries such that even the average viewer knows what songs are favourites to win. This isn't among them, and won't be. However, I certainly don't think this will be forgotten by the next performance, and that's crucial.

The song is certainly not bad. However it's a bit too bland and run of the mill, it doesn't stand out.

This is the largest Finnish thread in the forum's history, what more do you want? ;)

I think that this is quite underrated, our best song after Lordi as someone said earlier. But maybe I look everything through "blue and white glasses". This is my personal taste of music and I respect also other opinions.;)

Of course you see everywhere Greece

Yes it is underrated but I think that actually the reason is that it was from the first songs that where chosen so after hear it for a lot you are bored. Personally it is my 12th but in other year it could have been lower.

Btw my fave entry from :fi: is 2013 as crazy as it sounds .And I hate Lordi at all. xqueenbitch

I don't know why, but this song is really similar to songs of 30 Seconds to Mars or Paramore. Maybe i'm strange ... :D

Softengine was interviewed by Radio SuomiPop the other day, and they were asked about the running order and where they'd perform. Henri, the pianist, said "We're eighth in the semifinal, and if we make the final, what was it? I think it was 32nd" and Tuomo, the drummer said that it in fact is 32nd. Clearly shows how much the guys know about the contest they're attending! It's a complete impossibility, they've probably heard some number from their HoD and assumed it to be the running order, but it was still pretty funny to listen to! :D I wonder where they got that impression of performing 32nd in a final of 26 songs... :D

This may be a good thing, it shows UMK is seen as attractive to bands who wouldn't give Eurovision a second thought = more musical integrity.
