8 pts for now, until I can understand what hes singing about

I dont get it either. But the singer explained that it's about an old man, a widower, who is thinking back on his life and how others had great expectations about his life when he was young, but those expectations were never really fulfilled - but it did not matter because he had "something better", his wife, since he was young. Or something...

People, could it be possible to stop dissing each other for having a different taste in music thn you do? And I don't mean only Softengine's case, it's going on in every discussion about every song.

Everyone are entitled to their opinion and are free to state it, but please understand it's not the only opinion. It's immature and rude to say things like "I don't like it and I don't understand why anyone else does" or straight on say, tht someone else's taste in music is bad, because they don't agree with you.

This song is definitely a grower I think, at first listen I thought it was quite bland but I quite like it now

Altohugh my favorites in UMK´14 were Madcraft and Clarissa feat. Josh Standing, I like Softengine´s "Something better".
So I gave 8 points in the poll.

Wow, lots of 12s and 10s. Surprised so many people seem to enjoy this incredibly bland song

I could say the exact same thing about Italy's entry.

I think this is a strong song, and it's going to do well. It's an obvious jury fave. I know it's pretty generic, but for a Eurovision song it's high standard.

Decent. Will easily get through to the final. It'll really get the crowd going as its a gig pleaser! 6 points.

Great! This really sounds like a hit. So bad Finland didn't choose this. It would've been a great chance to see something different from Finland.

But why is Josh dressed like a hipster gangsta. What a terrible way to waste a hot guy!

It's not bad, but it worse than Softengine. Their performance in the NF was a circus...

You can call Top of the World what you want, but… different? I could call calculated, generic eurodance quite many things, but there's no way I'd call it different.
