I'm happy with Jasmin's performance, however, she should focus more on singing, but I got no complaints, other than Hukku ja Mama and Softengine scoring higher than her. But it is what it is

They scored higher in the jury voting. In the televoting it might not have happened.

Re: FINLAND 2014

Must say that I was positively surprised when Dennis was not the one who was chosen straight to the final. Of course the juries helped here a lot with their low points - that might mean that they don't want to let him win in the final either (if he gets there).

Yeah, Dennis' vocals certainly improved the most of the lot. I wouldn't say I'm completely shocked to see him below first in the jury's scores, but I'm definitely surprised to see him only escaping last by one point. At least, looking past the general scores and considering first and last overall, Finland seems so far to be ranking songs better than the travesty that was their national final's outcome last year.

My problem with the Finnish selection is having the same jury for heats, semi and final. They aren't going to magically change their mind, so surely it means Hukka Ja Mama and Softengine are the only ones from Heat 1 with any chance of going to Copenhagen? The extra rounds seem pointless.

The jury has stated that at this stage they are giving points to best songs, but in the final to the songs that might do best at the ESC... so I guess in that sense they might change their minds a little. Plus they dont have a say at the 2nd choice at all, its all about televoting.

Yeah, I like Jasmin but this one was right up my alley. We agree for a change!

Lame jury taste in Finland, but nothing new here. No great songs in the first round though.

It looks like Softengine and Hukka Ja Mama are the only ones which could win. I think Softengine are a über meh amateurish band. Hukka Ja Mama is more interesting, but their song isn't really quite strong either.

I'm glad overrate meh Jasmin's song is far behind, though!

Preferably Hukka over the lameness and predictable that is Softengine :/

Though I'm rooting for Mikko or Jasmin...

You see A-lister, I want in Finish language, I don't care on languages, just on entries..and why not to suggest to a country with a lame results in previous years to try with English one year?? :? :(

Because the issue is not the language imo ;)

And they went with an almost fully English entry in 2012... but that one flopped... so the crucial point is the entry ;)

I believe that if the song is good enough, Finnish is not a problem. Estonia proved this in 2009 and 2012. So Mikko or Jasmin might do really well - if they win the NF first.

Re: FINLAND 2014

"Falcon" on another ESC forum had translated Kertakäyttösydän nicely into English. There were slight changes in the live version, I changed them here.

Disposable heart

This ain't some american movie no, gallon of ice cream won't do
To the bus again at the last minute, to lose these heartaches away,
At the rounds of this evening, I need an illusion, that night would continue
I'm going to steal sentences, of the story, that would last the evening

At the terrace some people talk about me, they're commenting ”well, oh no”
That fool drank a lonely night for himself that way

REFRAIN x2:
From the shreds of love I will patch that one evening disposable heart
I'm not waiting for a miracle, I'll give myself a permission to be happy again

Even though I'm losing 6-0, oh, oh, soon would be the new round
I think I'm almost put together, I'm not hallucinating about princes

Some guy is measuring the skirts length, commenting ”well, oh no”
That fool drank a lonely night for himself that way

REFRAIN x4
