Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2012: REHEARSALS (vote in the poll for your fave from DAY
Estonia:
I don't like the vocal change in the song. The vocals were a bit shaky but i hope the actual performance will be more like the 1st rehearsal when he was flawless. Backdrop is amazing. As if sun, light and life is trying to cut through heavy blinds and finally does. very dramatic
Slovakia:
the lighting and backdrop are perfect for the song. The balance between the sound of vocals an instruments are better today. And Max actually sounds better too. I guess it was hard hearing himself and trying to overshout the music that was way too loud.I doubt it will qualify, not the target audience's cup of tea, definitely. But it will be a respectable showing.
Norway:
Weak vocals. There is no excuse for music being louder than singer in the 2nd rehearsal. The only one is that the voice is just not up to par. it's a nice dance performance and will qualify for sure on the tailcoats of the teen vote.
B&H:
I can't get over that there are couple of moments where 15 seconds in a row are almost EXACT melody as an old Russian romance - Love is a magical country. She has a strong voice. i don't think the simplicity of the backdrop is working for her. It's too simple.
Lithuania
His voice is nice, clear and dramatic. but he was flat on quite a few notes. Backdrop reminds me of the song La Val d'Amour from Notre Dame de Paris musical, the way it was choreographed in the musical.
UK:
You notice right away that it's a seasoned and experienced performer, he commands the stage by just standing there. I love the dancers and choreography. i hope the girl wears something more flowy during the live show.
France:
Loving the backdrop and half naked fit men on stage lol Song is almost besides the point. She is kinda wooden in her moves. Mayby that's why the performance is designed to take the eyes away from her?
Italy:
Style, class and impeccable taste. It's as if big band flapper had a lovechild with French music of the 80s in 2012. Love both styles and the meshing with some heavier elements. It's amazing. She is great!
Azerbaijan
Backdrop is great. Soundtrack to a movie about James Bond's mission in Azermaijan lol Her vocals are great. The usage of the dress as the projection screen is amazing. Gosh she is amazing. Just in case... can Azerbaijan handle hosting 2nd year in the row? I mean there are many favorites to win, some with better odds, but if that ends up first, i will not be very much surprised.
Spain:
Fire the sound coordinator. Or bring him coffee. in the beginning i can't hear her over the music that is not very overpowering (like in Slovakia's song). This song does nothing for me. a girl is suffering on stage in front of starry night and sparkles. safe, cliche, boring. Her voice is very good though. Milking that note like there is no tomorrow. good for her
Germany:
The song is very normal and current. I will not be surprised to hear it on the radio and will not be going for the button to change stations. It's nice, and, again, safe, but very radio friendly.
I voted for Italy and Azerbaijan.
