Netherlands and Germany, are really pissed of with EBU,
because they also wanted to host this important event.
Netherlands said that they will not broadcast the anniversary show.
Germany is still thinking about it.
But here are the news...
according to the manager of Belgium’s Eurovision winner, Sandra Kim,
the Netherlands are preparing to host their own 60th anniversary Eurovision show!
It is unknown whether the show will be organised by the local OGAE or broadcaster AVROTROS.

The UK did the same in 2005. The were originally offered in 2005, but apparently wanted to blow the budget on it and the EBU didn't want that, they wanted it done on the cheap. So the BBC threw a fit, refused to show and created their own show.

edit: anyway, they would probably have ended up with 2 boycotts anyway no matter they chose from the 3 (assuming Germany doesn't show it). If it was Germany the UK and The Netherlands would probably refuse to show, and same if The Netherlands got it.

Apparently Russia and Ireland are not performing twice, their songs are being merged together to create a medley. So it will be only one performance.

Tbh I'd have preferred Germany or The Netherlands. I'm gonna give BBC a chance, but right now I had two fears since I knew they were gonna host this show:

1- I was afraid the show could be a little selfish and too much about themselves. Looks it's not gonna be like that and I'm glad.

2- I am still REALLY afraid of the image the UK will be showing of Eurovision. Their speakers (especially Terry Wogan but not only him) never gave a decent and realistic image of Eurovision and the same happens with some Eurovision specials they had. Because of this, BBC (and TVE) would be the last broacaster I'd request an ESC related show.
Hope I'm wrong and I'm giving a chance, but those are my fears and I can't get rid of them.

I don't believe the BBC would purposely slam eurovision in the show, not even as a joke. Especially with Guy Freeman, who is the producer, hes trying to change eurovisions image in our country and wants it to be successful. Plus Graham Norton is very much more pro-eurovision (even though he does make some comments in the show, he never blatantly talks about political voting to an extent that Terry did). I've seen him defend the contest in interviews and you can tell when he does actually support our entry and when he's just saying it.

I don't think even Terry Wogan would mention political voting or anything controversial in the show because i'm sure the BBC would kick off about it.

But for gods sake, here in Europe, we have the pleasure to enjoy a fantastic song Contest each year since 1956 and when it´s time for the competition to celebrate 60 years, there are countries who argue about whos dick is the longest. Pathetic xfacepalm xfacepalm

For me it doesn´t matter where the party is being held, I just want to have a good show celebrating the 60 years of a great Contest, I wish BBC, NOS and ARD could stop being so selfish and instead support each other. From the very beginning, it was intended to be a Contest just for fun, but now it´s 200% seriously, that makes me very very sad

You can never please everyone, there is always someone who will complain.

When the competition is celebrating 60 years, it would be very nice if all could climb up from the sandbox for once

Yes it would nice, but I think you may be asking for too much.

Yes, I share the same opinion. Broadcasters should behave in a more mature way. The choice have been already made and it's BBC. I think the behaviour of these broadcasters doesn't match the values of Eurovision itself.

Well, I think the problem is how the host was chosen (now and in 2005). Looks like both times it was more a decission coming from EBU office than an open process. That's why the "losers", UK back then and now Germany and The Netherlands, are angry and butthurt.

If every broacaster that wants to host the event would've had the chance to present their project to be evaluated by the EBU in an open and impartial process (a little bit like how Olypic host is chosen but in a tiny scale), the result would be accepted by everyone and nobody would boycott the show, just like Spain, Turkey, USA or France are not boycotting London, Rio or Tokyo games because they were not selected.

This shows EBU still has a lot to work in terms of transparency.

I've just tweeted BBC eurovision requesting a Valentina Monetta medley. I think it's fair to say that it's going to happen.

Start a petition on change.org. Now.

Starting a petition may be only option (apart from hijacking the event), if it they don't take my suggestion.

BBC should have let me organize the guest list. I'd give the fans what they want...

Kaliopi mini concert
Rona Nishliu performs "Suus"
Sofi Marinova performs "Love Unlimited", with a Lens Lens section afterwards, as Len Goodman takes an in depth, slow motion look at Sofi's dance moves.
Elena Sinyavskaya performs fan favourite "Via Lattea"
Linda Martin comes on stage to talk about her 2014 national final experience. She treats the audience to an impromptu candlelight piano version of "Why Me"
Doris Dragovic performs "Maria Magdalena"
Opera Skaala perform their 2015 entry "Heart of Light"
A tribute to Ralph Siegel who will be watching in the audience. Valentina starts off the tribute with a 20 minute medley of her Eurovision entries. She's presented with a special Eurovision lifetime achievement award. Then Corinna May, Lou and Dschinghis Khan take the stage together, going through each of their songs before a giant catherine wheel starts spinning behind them. Lauren Harries then drops down from the ceiling, perched upon a cloud. She closes the show with an extended euro dance version of her hit song "I Am A Woman".

This is incredible. You should forward it to the BBC right now so they ditch the current line up for this.

I would also like a euro trash part featuring NeAngely "Courageous" & the german mega hit "Queen of light" by E-Rotic.
