EUROVISION 2023 - General Discussion thread

Personally I like this year more than 2022 and I think it has more interesting entries than last year. I also have more songs on my playlist. This year has some very weak entries like San Marino but also some very strong and unique entries like Serbia, Czechia, Spain etc. Last year was a bit generic in comparison to this year imo.

Btw. I would really like a voting system where we fans could also rank the entries for example on the Eurovision app. I would even be okay with paying more.

Like the way the juries rank the countries? That would be an interesting thing to do

The best thing to say about 2023 is that around this time last year, I felt sort of the same: That the best songs had been presented in Finland, Norway and Sweden, and that the rest of Eurovision would never reach the level of those three national contests combined.

Is it just me or is Eurovision 2023 not listed as an event at ticketmaster.co.uk? I can't find it

They’ll probably create a separate website for the Eurovision ticket sales so Beyoncé 2.0 doesn’t happen and everything crashes and burns

What tickets are we all gonna try and get? I’m just doing previews because I prefer to watch the shows with commentary on TV. I’m hoping for Grand Final afternoon and/or semi final 2 afternoon

I’m only up from Wednesday, otherwise I’d be all over SF1

my #1 priority is grand final jury show.
Idk if i want to do two shows or just one yet. I can only do semi 2 as the 2nd show and it doesn't seem too exciting... but maybe if i'm there in the thick of it all it won't matter... i've had bad concerts/plays/movies made better by the crowd. Also to get the "kinks" out before the main evens - grand finale jury show.

Question. The lowest prices, are those usually nosebleeds, or a SRO at the stage level? Or are those the highest, cause you are closest to the action, well, you can be if you run really fast haha

I'm going to try and get tickets even though I've not been able to secure accomodation yet
Eurovision comes to my country? You best believe not having a bed won't stop me 😂

Me and my friend are gonna try to get jury final tickets, and then maybe jury semis... Is it greedy of us to try for more than one? xthink
I have no idea how Ticketmaster works and I just hope that having made an account ahead of time and crossing my fingers real hard will be enough to get a ticket.

They announced you can only try and get 1 show at a time - so I have my work laptop, my macbook and my phone ready. I'll try for the afternoon jury show on 2 and the afternoon SF2 on 1

I don't think it's greedy at all. If you can make more than one and afford it, why not?
I wonder if it's gonna be possible to just have two tabs open and work in them simultaneously.
I'll need a plan of action, cause waking up before 5 and operating my brain will not be possible xstarsxrofl

If you love Eurovision go for it. Last year in the arena we were seated close to three Italian dudes in fancy suits who looked incredibly bored by it and just looked at their phones the whole time. I assume they got their tickets because some relative worked at RAI

Our OGAE didn´t make the draw so far, if I am not lucky there I will try for Grand Final or Semi 2

So I'm assuming this is an error in the T&C's for the Eurovision tickets. 1 ticket per person and per household - any more than 1 ticket, and the booking is cancelled. How exactly does that work for the family shows?

That´s only the site for OGAE Fan packages, not for the General sale tomorrow

read a good advice: if you haven't already, fill out all the details beforehand: address, card number, etc.
5 min is not that much time...

Ticketmaster UK normally give you plenty of time to checkout - 5 mins, then goes up to 7, 10 etc as you progress. I think I had 15 mins to verify payment via my online banking app as well when I bought Beyonce tickets
