Me too.
A soulless plastic generic song. All concerned about a mammoth staging. But hey we are in ESC and to the most eurovision viewers it will seem something revolutionary and out of world. This is Sweden. They have the ability to elevate a whatever ordinary pop song using smartly the power of the visuals.
Not even a top 10 for me.
I hope for some surprises

Spain is my top song of the year, I've accepted that it won't win though. Still hoping for a top 5 placement which would be a great result. I'd love a Eurovision hosted in Barcelona. Spain is my favourite country in Europe, I love spending time there

Loreen would top the odds with any other Song also, even with Azerbaijan‘s or San Marino‘s and a mammoth staging.

If San Marino sang Tattoi they would still flop.

I think it would be lovely to travel the map of Europe for the Voting calls and put on Ukraine on full frontal Display with Crimea and other besieged areas. Might trigger getting us all nuked but whatever. At least we die with a middle finger up in the air.

I have to say I’m exhausted. I’ve been following Eurovision topic on reddit, Twitter, Facebook etc. and is it just me or is the fandom more toxic or catty than ever before? I should be over the moon that my own country and our dear neighbor are the favorites to win, instead I just feel anxious and drained about it and like it’s become a big battle between two sides instead of just enjoying it all and rooting for your favorite without putting others down. Not just talking about Sweden/Loreen now but about all countries. The first/only thing I saw about TuralTuranX were people calling their rehersal a flop - let them breathe? I am scared of the mean vibes that will be if Loreen loses, but I also know that it will be there if she wins xshrug

having that said I think this forum is currently the most based/neutral platform

Every other fandom are fighting whoever is winning, while here I am just wanting my favorite this year to qualify.

I don't know if it's getting more toxic or if we just feel more aware of it, but yeah, it can be really draining. I stopped actively following Eurovision on Facebook, I am still a member of the groups for interesting side news, but I rarely read the comments and when I still see something outrageous, I take a deep breath and don't engage. It's almost a funny game of "aaand that's another opinion I will save my time on by just leaving it there".

Plus, I think loads of those people are very young and not everyone of that age has Looren's kindness.

This forum still rocks :)
