The stage for me looks fantastic! They've done a really good job this year with it, looks slick. I've just seen a report onbbc news and my god, that floor:ROFLMAO: It looks so....smooth?

But yeah, 12 points from me!

You may have something against Italy.
Don't remember any Italian song you like.
Now this.
Yes there were problems with the stage.
But the city has done everything to organize satellite events and promote ESC. Best venues were used for eurovision village, the opening. And the results were so obvious.
100 million profit and 55.000 tourists in 15 days.
Just ridiculous
I loved Torino, I love Italy, and I want to come back this summer: me and my friends who went there agreed with me: most of the time it wasn't noticeable that the city was hosting it. I'm not even talking about the stage malfunction - that's not the topic here (you brought it up for some reason). The topic is the experience outside of the arena.

Sure, decorations on the main square and fans walking around here and there, but Torino in my opinion didn't take it to the next level when it comes to fan experience: for example, the very small screen at EuroVillage with the poor sound. I asked several people who had attended that night if they had heard anything and basically everyone agreed that the sound quality was poor. It was just very hard to get a taxi to the arena for example and barely any local bars hosted viewing parties (or simply had it on the TV). Most Italians from my perspective are just not that crazy about Eurovision and that's fine. Not everything is a dig against you or your country and I find it embarassing for you to not be able to be even slightly humble about your own nation hosting it. I've for example expressed that the 2013 hosting was a bit humiliating.

Also, the fact that you bring up profit as some measurement of fan experience quality is embarassing: customer quality isn't measured in the amount of money the seller or the host achieves, it's just an indication of how much was consumed and what the prices were.

Re stage: I'm not a size queen :sneaky: but I think it looks a tad small, I was expecting more of an arena-U2-kind of vibe. This to me is a bit like if an AI created a stage for Melodifestivalen in terms of size and overall look. Perhaps I wanted more creativity or innovation or something, idk. It's a decent stage

Actually the stage looked better on the visuals. But still I think it offers a lot of different possibilities. We will get a great show from UK for sure.

I think it's one of the rare occasions that the green room makes the stage looks so much tinier by comparison. But it does look really good in that still photo.

Anyway, I didn't pay attention to the details of the "Rest of the World" vote. But according to the official ESC vote website, they will announce a list of eligible non-participating countries that can vote. I hope they don't do my country dirty. Wonder if Russia or Belarus will be banned from voting under the "Rest of the World".

I think Russia will certainly be out. Not only politic reasons but also because of the population. They could potentially overwhelm most other countries, and also that would contradict the notion of excluding them.

Belarus, not so sure. Ultimately the conflict was between the member station and EBU, not the country as a whole.

From what I've heard, in order to vote you will have to confirm your ID via a bank card thus Belarusian and Russian cards will be banned. Unless they've changed the voting system.

You should feel embarrassing because you are bringing here facts heard from a friend of a friend of a friend and not by yourself directly.
A poor sound????
Didn't find taxi???
And these are valid facts that the city didn't give a sh..t?
Ridiculous

You make a good point there. I wonder how they are going to calculate the "Rest of the World" vote. Is it going to be weightage per country based on size or every single televoter regardless from which eligible non-participating country will have equal weightage. Even though I think the impact on the overall results will be pretty minute even if the latter option is the way the points are finalized.

I see.

On a separate note, I supposed they will have controls to like restrict one card to one account? If not, people can just create multiple accounts to vote online with one credit card. But I am sure some users will have multiple credit cards so they can create different accounts to vote, just like some people may have multiple SIM cards.

No, Russian credit card system is not working in the EU since Council's regulation (sanctions) disconnecting Russia from SWIFT. Virtually no EU bank receives payments from Russia.

Yeah, poor sound at a music event is a pretty big deal. But who cares: Torino made a lot of money!!!

How have they managed to find four monarchists in Liverpool that should be nearly impossible

They'll have to flee the peoples republic of Liverpool once word gets out.
