Again, my own opinions are an influence here, but surely the song itself should count as much as performance? Or maybe even to a greater extent? I know this isn't an exact science but we could have 26 performers giving us professional cover versions if professionalism is all we're judging.

That doesn't just go for Sweden, it goes fir Israel too.

Israel was awarded more for production of the song. Amateurs can't hear that really. The production of that song is literally INSANE. The best one this year probably together with Austria.

I wanted to take a break from Eurovision at the beginning of the season. I wasn't really into ESC even last week, but this week has absolutely changed my mind :D I'm so happy to be a part of Eurovision community and I xlove lots of people on this forum, and this year actually proved that I will stay with ESC forever xhug

Even despite my fave didn't win, congratulations Sweden! xcheers

ps. I was expecting 130 points for us in the televoting, 191 is not so much like certain haters imply, so it's possible to beat Ukraine in the televoting. I fully agree with the juries' marks for us.

ps2. Eurovision made me 1760 UAH! xdance2 Thank you :se::hr::il: (put a bet on Sweden winning the jury vote, Croatia finishing better than the rest of Balkans, and Israel in the top-5).

I'm still just thinking out loud at this point, but this year feels like the year when a lot of EBU chickens came home to roost: producer running order, pre-recorded backing vocals...

Or, as some others have put it, it's just that there's a lot of collateral damage when you have massive televote magnets (:ua: last year, :fi: :se: and  this year).

It was pretty much a tasteless cringefest anyway this year but these results really add to them huh. And the juries were just having parties I guess, shame on them. Voted like kids.

I know I'm a bit of an odd one in the ESC fandom but this year really puts me out of it. Too old for this shit.

Happy for :be: tho, bless Gustaph.

There were so many great songs this year, this winner is such an anti-climax.

I never question televote results because noone can influence people, they simply like you or they don't.

But what the juries did to Spain is unacceptable, and the fact that 10 out 13 juries' top 13 have gotten like 20 points from the public, speaks volume really.

As for Loreen, I never said anything about her personally thus far, I have not even given a comment about her nails, but now I will:

Your 30 minutes long escapades on press conferences, darling belittlings of other people, fake surprise facial expressions, fake gratitude expression - take them with you and don't ever come back, DARLING.
This. This is why I love you.

There's nothing likeable about Loreen's personna. It comes across as fake af.

They pulled out a surprise in both the semi and the final.

But ... he is one of the worst singers of tonight's competition, no matter what criteria you are using. If the juries shouldn't take that into account, why should they be there? The point of the juries is to make sure that quality is rewarded, and his vocal abilities are of low quality.

Agree... I preferred Finland to win, but actually Sweden is a more fairier winner. I will explain: Cha Cha Cha is really a banger, a standout song, one we will remember for decades probably. But Käärja limited vocals doomed its possibilities, awfully. After watching Loreen's performance and his performance I knew for sure Loreen would have won, even though I preferred Käärja song, because Sweden had package + vocal performance, Finland only package. Vocal performance was not there, was not on point.

I mean, it's totally understandable if Käärja fans will be fuming after this Loreen victory, but in my opinion Loreen's performance was more convincing when it mattered the most.

The fact that jury votes are presented first and for a much longer period of time says it all. Jury votes are presented as more important and televoting as something completely secondary. The whole voting system should be changed. I am for 100% televoting.

Käärijä is much worse! I cannot stand him at all! (n)

Well of course I am happy for second best result of our Eurovision history. But public wanting to Finland win (also 2019 Norway) is big disappoiment.
