As I understood it from an interview with the manager of MECC (the proposed venue in Maastricht), they are waiting for the exact guidelines for a bid book. So I assume nothing is known yet so far.

I believe we should just host Eurovision in my house. I think I'm going to make a bid.

First Time I entered this Thread and the Björkman-Hate already started.

Surprised? But people in here do really believe that Björkman is a dictator, those people who claims that never got love when growing up, that´s for sure.

I really would love to see these people say that in front of him, I´m pretty sure 98% of these people would decline like cowards always do, because it´s no fun when you can´t hide behind a screen

Ok, I expect you to show some evidence of that in the future ;)

Give me a press pass for 2020 and I will ask Björkman many awkward questions. I am the most disrespectful person towards people I don't like that I know and very confrontational.

What's the reason you all dislike Bjorkman?

If Sweden were less successful, people wouldn’t care about him that much
Sure there’s probably other reasons as well but this strikes me to be the main one

He picks the swedish entry every year by telling the juries who to vote for and tries to convince the public they have any say.

Serious, NJ?

I’m pretty sure Björkman indirectly said that he wanted Loreen to win in 2017
But she wasn’t in the final though

I don't believe that. He surely likes an entry every year but i don't think he decides the winner.

Maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but the jurors are told who are the favorites ahead of time and the current system gives the public very little influence.

He's very triumphalist, he worms his way into controlling the contest and manipulating things, he wants to turn the contest into Melfest/the X Factor, he's smug af, he's just a little weasel of a man that wouldn't see anything wrong with ridding any semblance of fairness from what is, first and foremost, a music contest.

let's make a whole excursion out of it. with #retirebitch signs and everything!

I think that's mostly exaggeration.

He even said he thinks that she could have won. He probably didn't anticipate that the younger voting base would completely override and finish her off. That said I'm not too bothered by her flop back then, I thought it was horrendously overrated by fans tbh and got what it deserved. You couldn't even understand what she was saying, and it was meant to be an all deep lyrical song.

"Statements" was my favorite that year, but the thought of Robin and Wiktoria winning didn't bother me either. Two latest years of melfest though I've felt like Sweden's had a pretty clear winner so hopefully the competition will get better next year
I'm sad she lost to Anton, but Björkman not seeing the power of teenage girls really surprises me lol

From the moment that one is allowed to decide on the running order of his own country, :se: should get randomly drawn for the grand final instead of being unfairly provided plenty of assets as usual.

The same would go for  if JOS was being told do so. :?
