Some comments in this thread are truly cringeworthy :?

Yeah... I think the average age of the people commenting here lately is about 4 or 5. What a pity that in August the kindergartens are closed.

Some people really don't seem to like the idea of Gianluca singing another song... xthink

I know right! Since I can't sing, if I went to ESC I would almost certainly get 0 points... a result that your flop country is so accustomed to receive. :*

I think your rendition of Solayoh is very charming.

So, there is a sad news. Apparently, Salvador Sobral is giving a break on his career due to his health issues. I am guessing he won't be able to perform his winning song in the 2018 edition of the contest. The last time a closest case we had like that was in 2011 if I am not mistaken, when Lena also had to be prepared for her performance in Düsseldorf, therefore, she only appeared for a brief while when her winning song "Satellite" was being performed on the stage. Instead, the hosts took over it.

Yeah, I shared that on the Portugal 2017 thread already.
Well hopefully he will be healthy by May. We can always hope!

If Salvador was unable, then Luisa will perform it alone in the worst case.

The postcards will be filmed with the different delegations in various places around Portugal, in cooperation with Portugal's tourism board.
The applications for volunteers will be opened on January.
The cost of the contest will be defined until the end of the year, but it is expected to be less than 20 million euros. The shows will start being prepared in January and the building of the stage will start on April 1st.
Eurovision Village will start on May 2nd on the Praça do Comércio.

RTP will hold a press conference on November 7th in the Oceanarium of Lisbon where they will announce more details about the 2018 contest. Given that the initial theme of the artwork for the contest seems to be Portugal's connection to the sea, and that this press conference is going to be held on the Oceanarium (which by the way is right next to the Altice Arena that will host the contest. I strongly advise our forum friends that will attend the contest to visit the Oceanarium, it's great), it seems that the slogan and final visual identity and art work of the contest may be revealed.
Other rumours say that the details about the ticket sales, the volunteering program and other stuff like that will be announced.

Please no dull blues or purples or pinks or round things for the artwork!
I was hoping for a green/red refreshing colour scheme, but if it's sea-related, we may have another all-blue design.
I wouldn't be mad at it though, so long as it looks different than everything we've had this decade.

Lisbon is one of my three favourite cities in the world, among the ones I already visited (with Berlin and Barcelona). I'm so happy I will be there for the Eurovision and the area they chose for the contest is just amazing, so many memories there (Oceanarium xheart), can't wait to come back.

NOPE THEY'RE GONNA ANNOUNCE KAZAKHSTAN

Now let me turn off dragvision mode  I hope it's about tickets. Like Hrvatska above all I have left to book is tickets.
