First bit of news being that the EBU have tried to prevent a repeat of the Russia/Ukraine debacle by changing the rules. Very curiously they've included the line “no selected participant and no delegation member due to his / her past life gives the authorities of the host country a reason to impose an entry ban on him / her due to national laws”. This seems to give the impression that the EBU wants to be able to override the national laws of the host country. They really don't have a clue in Geneva.

This rule would have prevented Russia from selecting the criminal Yulia Samoylova this year, so it makes sense. I don't think the rule attempts to override national law. It rather requires the participating broadcasters to respect the national laws.

And thats why it is ridiculous that Russia "nominated" her absolutely to That one Eurovision that is held in Kiev and (probably) to none other.

She's even a repeat offender who doesn't regret her criminal acts. Under the new rules, broadcasters are not allowed to nominate people like her anymore. If the EBU had changed the rules one year earlier, this year's drama could have been avoided.

Well, she is completely talentless and not able to hit any high note nor to speak english. The only reason why she could get very far is because she is russian which is very sad in view that very talented beautiful Ladies like Mei Feingold, Amber or Agnete didnt nearly reach the final, while Juliya probably would.

So only speaking English and screaming is considered talent - following this logic Salvador Sobral is very talentless because he didn't hit any higher note in his performance, he was mumbling some non-English words and was making weird gestures and faces to it.

No, I mean that she sung in english while she doesnt master this language and doesnt hit the long (not high ) notes for Example "Flaaaaame is Burniiiiiing" or "Love is aliiiight" sounds horrible. She is overwhelmed by her own song..

..God, that was the last Time, that i listened to this Garbage It was horrible for me.

Well, Russians often struggle with English pronounciation like we, Poles I don't blame her, Michał doesn't speak very well English neither but he sang in English quite well.
English is almost like a requirement, it helps a bit in Eurovision that's why she decided to sing in this language in order to make people understand what she's singing about. In Russian they wouldn't understand much I think

I think you shouldnt sing english if you cant handle it. But even if you can handle it....Il Volo, Salvador, Rona Nishiu etc.. didnt need english to have a good result.
And the last polish singers were able to sing in english good enough that people could understand it effortlessly in the Opposite to Juliya.
