Success never felt more embarrassing

Sorry for the Hungarian team, they were very brave and the better team tonight. Pollitics aside Hungary would have deserved it more in my humble opinion.

Imagine we would have played in Budapest in front of a frenetic Hungarian crowd tonight instead of Munich... we would be eliminated now

Let's see what England is doing with us. Hungary found out how to stop our one-trick-ponies .. cover the full backs Gosens and Kimmich and we are out of ideas. I think England is smart enough to deal with us

Germany survived. I wish them to win European championship!

Finland was 17th. This was more than expected from them, so I am happy for them. It was so close, we would made to playoffs, but this was a good experience for Finn football team.

Powerhouses proved today they can’t be counted down.
Heartbreaking for the people of Hungary, they offered a good fight in an extremely hard group, they can leave the competition proud of themselves and with renewed hopes for the World Cup Qualifiers.

From now on another tournament starts, anything can happen...
Can’t wait for the knockout phase, especially these matches

I'm so gutted for Hungary, they fought like soldiers, they deserved to advance!!! These 2 matches were so nervous for me, I didn't almost want to watch, as I hoped for Hungary and Portugal. Luckily my fave Portugal made it xheartxheartxheartxheartxheart

He was once again the best looking player. If I would be a women I would get instantly pregnant when I see him. xheat ;)
I am more into Hummels and Kroos. I had to take care not to drool! :ROFLMAO:

But the way Germany played ... it will be hard to beat England. It's a miracle they survived the group phase!

Moving through Germany
Was it really surprising that Germany struggled against a strong-defense and a counter-attacking team? France was a level above Germany and Hungary, as well as North Macedonia stands for the all the 'small teams' the team struggles since a long time ago.

Germany needs other offensive-thinking opponents like Portugal and England. Those matches will be a bloodbath always, but fun to watch and it's okay to conceive 3 goals if you're scoring once more. Speaking from a neutral side I guess :D

And I guess it won't happen this tournament, but a match vs Spain with their regained 80 % of possession won't do any good to the current german playstyle^^

Regardless of how bad we've been tonight, becoming 2nd in this group is probably the best thing that could happen to us, cause we ended up in the bottom half of the tournament bracket together with teams like Wales, Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine, England, Netherlands and Czech Republic. In the other half there are all the big teams such as Italy, Spain, France, Belgium... and we could only meet them in the final and not before.
Realistically one of England, Netherland or us will go to the final, or there will have another big surprise (maybe Denmark summoning the spirits of 1992? :) )

Double post, double Milchbubis? :ROFLMAO: Two Kroos? Oh yes! xheat

Thanks for giving me nightmares. :ROFLMAO:

Just kidding, everyone has a different taste.

To the game. For Sané today there´s a word in German: Totalausfall!! I have now idea why Löw didn´t start with Goretzka from the beginning.

Group F ends as we all thought: the "three queens" would have passed the turn.

Scattered considerations:

Portugal:

-) The defense of Portugal is weak.
-) Cristiano Ronaldo is a monster xbow

France:

-) He disappointed expectations a little but ... the real tournament starts now. France will have the opportunity to demonstrate its strength xheat

Germany:

-) Germany's defense is weak.
-) The attack power of the German team is amazing. Many players on the move. However, he lacks a "weight striker" (like Lukaku).
-) The German game has always suffered from the "Italian game": defense and restarts xqueenbitch

Hungary:

-) Hungary is a determined and very athletic team. The technical value of the team is low but manages to make up for this with a "compact and simple game". The passes of the Hungarian players were not complex and fascinating but they were very effective. Honor to a team that fought to the last. Almost after Germany's 1954 "Bern miracle", Hungary's "Munich miracle" did not happen.
-) Marco Rossi gave Hungary an excellent game. He made his team believe they could win the group and almost couldn't. Driving him allowed Hungary to scare very strong teams xclap

Other:

Regarding the results, if I understand correctly how the pairings of the round of 16 will happen, I am very satisfied. If Italy manages to overtake Austria, they will face a Belgium or a Portugal tired from a very tough match xthink

Germany will face England instead. This is not very good for the Germans. The English game, even if incocludent in attack, is very physical, takes advantage of the quick restarts and the defense so far has been excellent (at the same level as Italy - 0 goals conceded).

For the moment, France remains the favorite and Belgium comes right after. For me they are the most complete teams.

Finally, I am happy for Croatia. I believe Modric and his teammates will wake up in knockout matches and will be tough opponents to beat. I want to make a prediction: who wins between Spain and Croatia? I say Croatia! Why? The quality in the passing and in the individual players is about the same but Croatia can be a little more compact in defense than Spain (they have very fast players with a strong physique) xyes

I was wondering about it too. I actually thought that Goretzka would be playing from the start as he had stated that he feels 100% perfect.

I am thankful for Löw for 2014, but am happy when a new era starts after this tournament.

I think that playing against England will be a better match than today, as England doesn't play as defensive as Hungary did. Let's see what is goung to happen.

I thought Musiala looked dangerous when he came on. Doubt he'll start vs :en: but thinking to think about maybe.

It's true. England will not play with a defense like the Hungarian one but so far they have conceded 0 goals. This must be acknowledged. Their football is based on the size of the defenders and running. It will not be a simple match. It may take penalties to decide the game.

On the other hand, England scored only two goals whereas Germany has scored 6 times, including Mats Hummels own goal 7 times :ROFLMAO:. It will be definitely interesting to see where it leads to!
