Can anyone explain those mechanics in UEFA Euro matches?
Greece has worse goal difference than Russia, but still qualifies.

This is because Greece has defeated Russia ;)

Wow......this is why I love football.

Greece and Czech Republic were the rank outsiders in the group. Czech lost 4-1 in their opening game, and still won the group
Russia won 4-1 in the opening match and went out. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.

I'm glad Ireland wont have to go through all this drama in their least match :)

Today it's Germany against Denmark... I feel quite sorry for Denmark because I really wished they would get through, but Germany needs this points today and so we have to kick Denmark out (or at least I hope so... or better: I hope that Germany get's through) :(
But I really want to say: Today, I'm FOR Germany, but not against Denmark :)

Please be nice to your lovely little neighbour up north, Germany. Just hope we won't get slaughtered completely.

One thing is to win over Netherlands and almost draw with Portugal, but Germany is the best team in the entire tournament so in order for us to get through tonight it''ll require each of our guys to play their match of their life + a bit of luck like against Netherlands. A lot of things have to add up, so it's gonna be incredibly difficult. Still quite bitter we didn't just settle it against Portugal...with 4 points we could've made it so much easier for ourselves.

Dream scenario would be for us to draw with/win over Germany and Netherlands to defeat Portugal. That way both of us would be able to enter the quarter-finals together. xcheers

Permutations for tonight:

WARNING: THIS WILL GET CONFUSING

:de:
Germany will qualify if they
  • avoid defeat against Denmark
  • lose against Denmark by one goal and Portugal win by one goal, but Germany scores two more goals (ie 4-3 to Denmark, 1-0 to Portugal)
  • lose against Denmark and Portugal do not win against Netherlands

:pt:
Portugal will qualify if they
  • beat Netherlands and Denmark dont beat Germany
  • beat Netherlands and Denmark beat Germany by the same margin
  • draw with Netherlands, and Denmark dont beat Germany
  • lose by 1 goal and Germany beat Denmark

:dk:
Denmark will qualify if they
  • beat Germany
  • draw with Germany and Portugal lose to Netherlands
  • lose to Germany by one goal and Netherlands beat Portugal by one goal, with Denmark scoring the same number of goals (or more) as Netherlands (ie Denmark lose 2-1, Netherlands win 1-0)

:nl:
Netherlands will qualify if they
  • they beat Portugal by 2 goals or more and Denmark lose

Can't believe that Russian team screwed all opportunities. It's not embarrasing to lose to England anymore. They just stood at 1 place and certain Greek "leaders" were simulating all the time... thankfully this nightmare is over and tonight it will be different (hope so).
As for Ukraine - France game. Gr8 technical crew, everything was dry in less than 30 mins. France showed the best game on the champs so far, our keeper is gawd, our defense are lame suckers :*)
Like the vast majority of UA fans I cheered for Sweden.

Tonight I'm happy to see any win as well. Good luck, everybody :D xcheers

ps. Didn't expect such a heavy schedule... from Garbage, Armin and Linkin Park to Hugh Laurie and Zaz... saw everyone, it was friggentastic. lol @ Noel Gallagher in the presidential lodge
