This has actually somehow ended up being one of my most played Eurovision songs from this year! It's beautiful, I love her voice and I think for sure this is qualifying. I can't see it not doing so.

Month to go to Eurovision, and this is still a song I skip on ESC playlist, together with Čuto Tuto.

She can be Monserrat Caballe as far as I'm concerned, I respect the quality, but it doesn't change the fact that it is a sort of ESC clichee songs I have heard too many times to vote for something like that (over and over again, year after year).

This morning, I have been mostly listening to Estonia...

Semi-final 2 throws together five solo female acts. For me, this is easiliest the best.

Alika has a song with minimal arrangement, and I expect a performance with minimal 'cosmetic' staging or antics to camouflage any weakness. Although in her video we do get a bit of Kate Bush style dancing! Basically she swims or sinks on the basis of her singing.

And yes, she certainly swims!

Her voice is very strong, and she carries off the song with aplomb. She reminds me a little of Adele, and if the televoters feel the same vibe that's no bad thing.

I'm impressed, and certainly hoping to see her in the GF.

Well she is in the weak semifinal and even if she and Lithuania will fight for the same votes. I don,t see many other songs who will take votes from here. Both Denmark and Iceland has just ok songs, but not like Norway, Sweden and Finland.

She will probably get 10 or 12 points from Lithuania and could also get 6-10 points from Iceland and Denmark. Also good chance to get some ok/high points from UK, Ukraine, Romania and not chanceless to get some points from balkan, armenia, georgia, Poland and Greece/Cyprus. Also need to only beat 6 country.

Even if the song isn't catchy enough, I really hope the staging and her stage presence can elevate the song enough for the public, helped by the fact that there probably is a target audience out there for this that will appreciate a strong classy ballad enough to vote for it. A strong jury vote in the final can ultimately give this a decent result. Regardless I'm so proud of her, she is only 20 with such power and basically her whole career ahead of her.
