Kõrsikud, seriously ?
Many good name are not in semi-finals, and also the song Silent Streets. I really wonder the rest of the songs.
I really liked the song of NimmerSchmidt. Songs of The Titles and Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band are really mediocre, at least for now.
I loved the song of Lenna in her live performance, it was so lovely. It is so good even though I'm not fond of Mihkel Raud's music.
I predicted Nion before. ( http://www.escunited.com/t10142-16/#post1138161 ) Karl Kanter is a good composer, wish they advance to final.

Kõrsikud are pure and profound, something relatable to Estonians.

And I'd say Nion is the worst of those six songs released so far. It sounds repelling and vocals are bad.

Different people, different opinions.

And no Rolf Roosalu in this year :D
Well, he has usually quite nice songs...but some break is good.

At least he kept his word since he promised to take a break. Unlike Sven Lõhmus who in 2009 said he's done with Eurovision, came back for 2011 and then claimed he would only return if he had the right artist and the right song. Well, maybe everything is right for him...

He has the right artist. Let's hope the song is right as well ;)

Well, Rändajad was a masterpiece and he should have won with his entry for Grete Paia in 2013, so I don't mind him being back... especially with Sandra!

Watched the recording of Ringvaade again. Summary of what the interviewed jury members said: Record number of submissions but still very many bad songs. There very many big and known names with poor songs that received 0 votes. Many tragic and depressive sounding entries so the positive and uplifting ones had a chance to stand out. Overall a slightly better level of selection than last year.

And I think they showed a bit more than the should have. Here's someone's notesheet:

And here's something that looks like incomplete top list:
vlcsnap-2013-12-12-21h52m11s215.jpg

Numbers behind the names should be how many upvotes the songs received out of 11 jury members. Looks like Kõrsikud might have been the favorites with 10 and Sandra Nurmsalu second with 9 votes. Some of the semi-finalists received only 6 votes.

Agreed on the first point, but Winny Puhh were robbed, not Grete. Her song was solid though.

Winny Puhh were a hot mess

Perhaps, but that kind of thing is really my type of music. I just wanted Estonia to take a chance for a change. We ended up getting a skull-crushingly boring ballad. Hopefully they do something a bit more daring this year.

I didn't know you were into that type of stuff? I always learn some more about people in here...

I want daring entries aswell, but that (for my ears) was just noise. Just as with the language discussion, in the end of the day the most important is that the best entry wins, not just daring for the sake of being daring... although I do appreciate countries taking musical risks in this.

I did honestly feel that Winny Puhh had the best entry, but out of the final 2, Grete was robbed.

Not a bad lineup. I like Nion. Will be interesting to see how they cut their song down from 4 minutes to 3 (I'm assuming they do that for Eesti Laul). It's promising, but needs to be a little snappier.

Supernoova is quite a nice little song. Similar to Mina Jaan, but not quite as good if you ask me. She's pretty much certain to finish second.

Disappointed Mimicry's song didn't make the cut. It's a bit messy in parts, but still very enjoyable and would have been a good addition to the contest.

I'm also guessing this would have been Põhja-Tallinn's entry. Can't believe they went for a choir again. I thinks it's good, but maybe the judges thought it was too similar to Meil en Aega Veel.

I was thinking today, Sweden won in 1999, Denmark won in 2000 and Estonia won in 2001. Now Sweden won in 2012 and Denmark in 2013. Can Estonia do it on 2014? I think it's quite possible, specially considering Sandra Nurmsalu is in the line-up! (I hope I won't be disappointed)

Yeah, that's been discussed previously and now seeing Sandra with another Sven song, it's not impossible!
