Liis a gem? xshrug

Well each to their own, I don't get the appeal of that entry what-so-ever, I actually don't think that one would qualify at all.

I understand you, i'm THAT close to starting to learn serbian the more i listen to Zeljko songs

I think it wouldn't be that hard, since you're a native Russian speaker. Although I am sure you can understand at least 30% by just listening to Serbian songs.

Oh and back to the topic - I really loved Liis and her song... But I doubt it would do well in Baku. Not many people can appreciate funky and jazzy stylings of that kind.

Out of all the estonian final songs? Yes, to me it's a gem (not saying it's a global gem, but nationa selection - wise it is), i don't think Kuula has a solid chance to qualify, especially with a semi as tough as the second one. I'm singing "what i need and what i want, what i need and what i don't" all the time, dont remember Kulla at all, well maybe only the fact that the first seconds reminded me of Mariah's "Hero". Anyways, that's only my opinion of course ;)

The Liis song was poor. The real scandal was both Birgit and Teele finishing above Mimicry in the 2nd semi. Pretty females win the day yet their songs were very mediocre.

Yes, of course i understand around 30-40% of serbian especially if i read it, i've downloaded serbian language lessons - it's not as easy as i thought anyways :D It would be easier if i was a native ukranian speaker - ukranian is more similar to serbian, at least from what i hear.

Anyways, i doubt that any of the estonian final songs would do well in Baku. At least Liis's song is cheery and catchy, when Kuula makes me yawn. But maybe he can sneak into the final with the juries, dunno...

Jury were perfectly fine, they gave Liis Lemsalu a 10 in the first semi and Lenna a 10 in the second semi, i guess that says a lot about their professionalism.
Estonia had a gem like Liis Lemsalu and they picked Kuula, i hope there will be not too many complains when it doesn't qualify :?

Well, I liked both Lenna and Liis better than Ott, but I still think there were far more interesting choices than them in both semifinals :(
Whatever!.. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal taste :) I personally think the jury had veeeery weird preferences
and btw... I'm also pretty sure that Kuula will be forgotten in Baku. NEEEEEEXT!

OMFG!
The jury was an absolute disaster! I sooooooo disagree with them.. And what are they supposed to be?? So-called professionals? xrofl3

It's all down to tastes. By my taste, they put the best song top by a big margin.

I have more of a problem with the public putting Ott top by an even bigger margin. Is he that famous?

Yes, Ott won with a large margin. I mean, he had 11,000 more votes than Lenna in the first voting round. It is rare in Eesti Laul, isn't it?

At first I found this song overwhelmingly boring, but it worked out well live on the stage. Had kind of a magic. Very beautiful. But there is very little "fresh" in that song .... not sure if it'll do well, but it was the best we got this year. Or well, Lenna was just as good and her song was more original, but at the end of the day I think she wouldn't do any better than Ott.

But I do think this song will stand out.

Wheere the hell is this from? :D
A person called Jenni Papstel did this, according to Liis Lemsalu FB Page. I think this is great work :D
As for Kuula, i gave it 12 even though it is my 7th or 8th in final. But i still love this, and yes it sounded great in concert hall. After winning, his performance was even better.
I'd love to go to an event of some Estonian singers, together with my best friend here, Valvejoodik. I'll miss Laura's event on 10th of March, for example, and it kills me :/
I want to go to Eesti Laul 2013 too.

I can't believe :ee: are sending such an invisible act, they usually would send something that stands out in a crowd. About 20 seconds are good and the rest is just meh - 3 points, as it's not totally cheap and in Estonian.
