Ireland making it with a snippet in the replay which literally was pure noise proves once and for all that "casual viewers" who see the song for the first time are not decisive for the voting....
I mean who wouldn't scream in rage over a toxic partner eh? Thank you Bambie for representing our feelings :xo:

Luxembourg making it saved my night. Apart from her I really wanted Lithuania to qualify and Croatia. Sadly Australia didn't make it.

What a deserved flop for Poland. Don't bother pushing down our throats multiple ads even in unrelated videos if this is what you have to show.

Congratulations to mother Raiven, what a majestic performance.xclapUkraine winner of the night for me, hands down. Sad for Azerbaijan, would add a lot more to the final than the banalities of Cyprus/Luxembourg.

Highlight from the show: Mr. Eurovision sining Euphoria with the gorgeous live orchestra. The rest ranges between decent and forgettable. Hopefully the second semi will be better.

For the statistics, I missed one. Poland (witch was shaky anyway) vs. Slovenia. Both were kind of favorites for me, but overall, I'M HAPPY! :)

This was quite a 2021 moment for me in terms of Poland. It was one of my favourite songs in both cases, but the live vocals were shaky, and in the end their NQ wasn't surprising.

Most sterile and predictable show I've seen in a while concerning Eurovision. Damn, contemplating if I will turn in on Thursday. Felt incredibly bored. At least all my favourites came through, so yay I guess...
In terms of predictable, you did watch semi 1 last year right?

The biggest surprise to me tonight was that the lemon for my coke and bacardi hadn't turned bad since I bought it a looooong time ago :ROFLMAO:
Yup my Guiness was also good. Bought about half a year a go. Maybe that's why Ireland got through?

By the way I was sleeping and just woke up during the qualifiers' announcement... is it really that mundane guys?

I'm surprised, as I got 8 of the 10 that I wanted; could have done without Finland or Cyprus, but I think Azerbaijan is the only song I'd actually replace one with.

With Poland or Azerbaijan in and Finland out It would have been the perfect lineup. Oh well, 9 out of 10 Is not that bad...

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 First Semi-Final is now over. Here are the results:

Actual qualifiers (in order of announcement): Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland, Luxembourg.

OUT: Poland, Iceland, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Australia.

The UK voted this evening, I voted for: Lithuania, Ukraine, Cyprus, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Australia.

Anyway, no matter how I personally feel about which countries' songs went thorough and which ones didn't, all the artists who performed tonight deserve equal respect. Congratulations to the ten countries which qualified to the final, and commiserations to the five which failed to reach the final. So, that means sixteen finalists are now confirmed and five countries have been eliminated. Another sixteen countries will battle it out for the ten remaining places on Thursday evening.

Yup, one of my favorites, too. The NQ still quite understandable regarding the live.... :(

I never had any doubt of :pt: qualifying. And now with juries in the final, this has got the potential of 150-200 jury points in my opinion. Her vocals are flawless and the whole performance is totally captivating.

I voted
23x Lithuania
16x Slovenia
1x Ireland

Can't believe they all made it. Especially Slovenia.... I hesitated to vote for her since I thought it would be pointless... what a relief!

I only miss Poland and Azerbaijan but they would be my #9 and #10 today anyway so it's not a big loss and Cyprus nailed it.. it was a great opener.
Personally, I started to despite Finland but I guess it's funny if yo watch it for the very first time.

So kudos to all qualifiers. It was a good show.
