According to this source, it's going to get political and very dirty.
ORF vergibt Song Contest an Wien

Wrabetz made the decision on his own after 14 hours of internal negotiations. His financial director refused to back his decision up, stating that Innsbruck would have economized 10 million euros. The Tyrolean bid had 50 pages with the title "Carefree package", they would have paid every bill!

For Vienna and ORF it's financial disaster in the making, proving once again that Socialists can't handle money.

As I maybe want to visit ESC 2015 I was cheering for Vienna (bigger chance to get tickets + a suitable hotel), so I´m glad the ESC is hosted in Vienna now :-)

Maybe a bit early to tell? I hope though that what you said about why Vienna was chosen is not true, otherwise...

Have fun y'all in the oldest, crappiest hall of Europe, without air-conditioning and contemporary live acoustics.

It's so hot in there, that people will suffocate. I guess Vienna 2015 will be remembered as a nightmare and disgrace.

I am so relieved that Vienna was chosen. Innsbruck would have been bearable but it's just too small IMO to host such big events and Graz was a big NO from me to begin with. I'm glad that the director was persisent and in the end prevailed. I can't wait!!!!

Graz had a very extendable venue and could have hosted a huge audience.... Innsbruck got underestimated as well, since their contest would have been bigger than Kyiv, Malmö and many others.

It was a decision for the perfect venue/host city..not a auction for the highest bidder

Yeah, it was a decision for "the city of music" for the most expensive price possible....

If ORF wanted the "city of music" anyway, why did they ask other cities with better venues in the first place? It looks like the decision was already taken on May 11, and the bidding was just a masquerade.....

When ORF posted their requirements online, everyone knew it was tailored for Wiener Stadthalle, and yet they failed to deter Innsbruck and Graz with surprisingly good offers.

Yay for Vienna! I mean Vienna's venue holds 16k of people, while Graz holds 11k and Innsbruck 10k

If we're judging by the venue itself then Vienna«s Wiener Stadthalle is clearly superior to the other two, so you can't really use that argument
