It’s the age old debate… should the juries have the power or the people? But when it’s 100% televote we had complaints because only eastern countries did well… then 2023 can counter that argument/

There is never going to be a way to make everyone happy. So I will use my voice to protest here that the jury should not have been used but in Estonia only just should have been used. I’m fickle - I just want my favourites to win 😂
I think juries should be there, both nationally and maybe even in the semi-finals. What I don't like at all, is international juries in national contests. That's sick.

Exactly, a NATIONAL FINAL is a contest for the NATION to select a song to represent THEM.
I’m glad we’re of the same opinion :gimmefive:

The biggest gap in the odds for the semi-finals has for some time been the one between Denmark in 11th spot and Georgia in 10th. Right now it's a massive 32% percent difference between the two. At the same time, Saba has never been better placed in the overall odds as she is at the moment (22nd). Quite remarkable. That situation is somewhat similar to 2019 when Leonora was a borderline qualifier and yet almost ended up on the left side of the scoreboard in the final. But 32% ... Realistically, maybe the strongest hope for Denmark is Estonia making a mess of the live performance so that even the most "let's have a party" minded televoters will choose something else.

This is cute! 10 points. I wish she wouldn’t shout so much in the chorus, I always feel like she‘s angry at me, lol.

Very flat and uninspiring for me. I feel that juries could easily stand behind it but I am not so sure about the televoters. :dk: deserves a much stronger entry.

I think we all need to shout SAAAAAAND during the performance for any chance of qualification. I do think the chosen camera angles are ineffective

I agree! But that's what separates the quite good singers from the really good singers. The quite good singers have learnt to "push" the voices, but the really good singers know how to moderate that, so that the tones come out softer. Another weak point of hers is the low notes in the first verse and in the intermezzo - she doesn't have the technique to control those.

When you're a bordeline qualifier, this could prove decisive.

I actually really like the staging, they did a fairly good job with it. Hoping this will sneak through to the final.
Still planning on throwing a couple of votes from the Netherlands in semi 2 to this one

Our song will definitely qualify. However, it is not really memorable and the execution simply feels a bit akward. 6 points herfra.

Had to downgrade it even further from :3: to :1:, radio blandness in its worst form and the lyrics are cringe af.

Which lyrics are not "cringe" at this year's Eurovision, according to you?

Emmelie de Forest is not going back to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix any time soon, it seems. Her reasons are a bit depressing:

"- Are you a little jealous of Saba representing Denmark this year?

- No, I'm not! I'm glad it's not me again, says Emmelie de Forest with a big laugh.

- So you're done with the Melodigrandprix?

- In Denmark, yes. But maybe in Sweden. The Grand Prix is huge there. If you write a song for their Melodifestivalen, you're guaranteed to get a radio hit because they really cultivate it. It's not exactly like that in Denmark, where there's no support for the music at all. But we'll see. "

I heard that the rehearsal on Wednesday went badly. There were technical issues some of which were caused by Austria not getting off the stage in time. The Danish delegation was not happy. More worrying: It affected SABA’s performance. We know from the national contest that she is very fragile when there is technical problems.

It would be a double disappointment if Denmark not only NQ’s but also delivers a mediocre vocal performance for the second year in a row.
