Dark Horse of 2010?

I expected it to be top 2 or even win.

I had 3 dark horse predictions: Turkey, Romania and Belgium. For once, all three of them finished in the Top 6 (Belgium was Top 5 until the 3rd to last country to vote gave their points).

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Denmark, or were they actually favorites?

Not as far as I know, but Romania placed higher than Denmark and none here really expected it to come 3rd, even those of us who loved it...

Yeah, but Romania's song was still sort of modern and the performance stood out while Denmark was merely a copy of 90's or so Eurovision songs, nothing memorable in my opinion. I expected it to get about a similar result like Ireland.

Not according to the bookies and "experts" who, as the clueless sheep they were, kept touting Azerbaijan as the winner. I never understood why it was a favourite to win and even asked people on these forums why it was such a huge favourite.

The biggest fail of this year is certainly Azerbaijan. #1 bookies favorite only ending on #5, I guess that's a first.

romania was for sure the dark horse. all the polls made by ogae or fans placed romania between 5th and 10th place. but we came on 3rd ! turkey was also predicted for top 5.
