There will be an official livestream on eurovision.tv´s official YouTube channel!
Foreign viewers can cast their votes via the app and will make 70% of the televoting.

The Czech public will have a 30% say.
For now, I think this is a good decision. Our public can have a bigger weight once it finally becomes interested and it's not only the big names who bring their fanbases in.

I'm still a bit offended that we only have 30% of power
Yep that's weird, but i think we understood : They broadcast it on a monday, they give 70% to foreign viewers -so the eurofans-.... They want the fans to decide, because know that the czech public could do the wrong choice, as the public of every country with their own NF.

The juries got ditched. It seems that the Czech Republic has adjusted to the rule change in Eurovision!

Excited!

My reaction to any news regarding :cz:

Personally, I think that Czech voters should have a bigger say in it as well. I mean, it´s YOUR song and it will represent YOUR country.

Letting international viewers vote, though, is incredibly smart and should be added to each and every national final - especially when it comes to non-Big-5 countries who have to rely on 100% televoting (coming from other countries) in the semis due to the new rule change. I´d prefer such procedure to letting former ESC participants judge.. didn´t Ruslana say that "Mother" was about to win Eurovision back in 2014? - The question remains to what degree international (hardcore fans) should have an impact on a national final´s result.

When it comes to the Czech Republic, didn´t have the Czech public a say of 30% before?
The Czech delegation is absolutely incredible and passionate about Eurovision and it amazes me how good they are (and even come up with some really good performances) but the broadcaster needs to work on make the general public more interested in Eurovision so that a Czech televoting would be more significant - I guess that´s the reason it´s not the other way round or 50%/50%?

"Song updates for ESCZ: Songs could have been released since 09/22 We want to promote our artists and their music so take a look in their repertoire. they might release it soon or right after the show.. you’ll find out on 30/01 Y’all don’t complain when others do it "

Ok ok so :

Marketa Irglova released this song on streaming services exactly on the 9th of september. The song is 3:48 long but could be cut

Maella Released Tudu tudu Tu, which is eligible
Pam Rabbit released zobrazeno, which is eligible but need to remove the swearing

Vesna and Rodan did not released anything - The song "love me" teased by Vesna with a video today is out since april 2022.

The line-up sounds promising and i am confident the songs will be good and competitive.
The voting weighting is comprehensible given the updated voting modus in the semifinals. Plus, it is always tough work to organize a representative and meaningful jury. TBH the ones Czechia had before were imho not representative, from both the quantitative and qualitative point of view.
What could be a point of criticism is, that the national final, streamed live, is obviously aimed towards the foreing public. Thus, the ESCZ team and hereby Czech TV have again resigned to meaningfully enlarge the knowledge about the contest in Czechia. So, if they will again wonder, why the viewing ratings are so low, they should search for the error in their own ranks tbh.
But from the fandom point of view, things look promising as i had said before. Let us wait for the songs.

The interest in ESC will never go up until Czech TV starts broadcasting live national final on their main channel.
That's why I cared about whether it will be televised or not before. But no surprises, I think it's a miracle we still have a national final, so I don't complain :)

Novinky and IDnes did a poll today - as expected, Markéta is leading there as she is the most known in the line up to the general Czech public

It truly feels like the broadcaster doesn't care at all about improving the ratings and the image of Eurovision within the Czech Republic. I mean, they're basically holding a national final completely for the eyes of foreign viewers, broadcasted only online, hosted in English and with international viewers having 70% of the voting power, it makes no sense at all.
That plus the fact that they don't even broadcast the contest on CT1, it's like they're purposefully trying to sink the ratings to have an excuse to eventually withdraw "we made the final and still no one watched the show, nobody cares here so we're withdrawing, bye"

It feels like the ESC delegation itself though truly does their best to try as hard as possible despite the broadcaster not giving a crap. They absolutely make the most with what they're given.

I understand that the czech public arent overly bothered by eurovision but surely making their own vote is only 33% and having NF is in english will only make that sentiment worse

Markéta's entry probably. Uploaded an hour ago and is exactly 3 minutes long :)

OMG! What a beautiful song! I hope this is really her entry. With proper staging, it could make a memorable performance at Eurovision.

Pam is teasing her newest song on tiktok
https://www.tiktok.com/@pam.rabbit/video/7187116318322199814?lang=en

I know i said some shit about tiktok before because i'm getting older and i'm turning into a boomer, but for Pam i'm willing to make an exception and replay this teaser over and over again because I LOVE IT! xlovexyaaay

Besides her having great songs in her repertoire, her skills of performing are the main factor why i consider her the top 1% of all eurovision national finals alumnusxbow

..ok her looks tooxblush

She definitely has my vote. (this is the part where you guys are pretending to be shocked)
