I absolutely loved the busking idea this year, I even saw and very much enjoyed Barbora's performance in person (I almost went to ask her for a selfie afterwards, but I chickened out 
). But yeah, it would kinda suck to repeat this once they had been promised a TV slot...

The busking sessions weren't too bad, I just didn't like the fact that the artists hadn't been informed about them earlier. It's something they should know about beforehand, not learn about it during a meet&greet. Also the audience of some of the artists was quite small which made it rather awkward.
I too think that finances might be the reason. It's really weird that only about a week ago Jan Bors shared the interview where he promotes the national final and talks in detail about the preparations they are undergoing now - hosts, performances including choreographies etc., special numbers... I'm really curious about those - are they going to just call off those "special numbers"? That'd be also quite rude, especially if they were international eurovision artists and it won't give us a good reputation.

TBH I got so disappointed I completely forgot about the special guests... Maybe they will at least get to reveal the winner...?
I was hoping I could buy tickets for our NF... Well I guess I will just have to buy tickets for Rotterdam instead if possible

What the hell? Such a disappointment. Don't know what to say.
As there is apparently never enough of bad news, no TV national final for Czechia in 2020. We keep the online format we have been using for the last two years.
The reason given is "there is no way we get to achieve the quality level we have imagined, so it is better not to get into it yet". Based on the comments section, Jan Bors only left after the decision had been made.
Let's focus on the positive: at least we are still taking part in the contest itself!
Bors' probably very disappointed.

I had no time to follow Eurovision news lately and once I do, the first information I see is "No Czech NF". Jesus Christ, one can't really leave the Czech Delegation alone for few days...

The lack of NF didn't damage the song quality last time but it's still disappointing.

Also, looks like the rumour that one of the selected finalists dropped out is true - escarena.cz says that Kryštof Šámal from Czech delegation confirmed that there will be only 7 finalists after all, without stating the reason.

Jan Bors is hosting a Q&A session on his instagram.
I asked him whether the televised NF was cancelled because of a sudden cut on an already promised budget - he replied that the reason is different.
Someone also asked him whether the cancellation of the TV NF was one of the last drops that made him leave ČT and he said yes.
Someone else also asked about his plans for next year - he replied that he would like to try some opportunities abroad. When asked if those opportunities abroad mean if he's looking for something related to ESC - he replied that he wouldn't be against it

Some news about our NF.
Twice a week till Christmas, there will be clues given so people can guess our 7 finalists. The names will be eventually revealed on 13th of January, a week later than was originally planned.
The first clue: there will be 7 acts composed of 11 artists in total.

Omg, I just learned that the national final was cancelled, I'm a bit disappointed. I thought about it yesterday, I was like "happy for France, there'll be the Czech national final in january anyway so the month won't be that empty" and now I learn this ?!

Only the televised form of the NF was cancelled, the NF will still happen - in an online version like in the past 2 years
