Anyway, that can't spoil my happiness of Barbora being in again!

I predicted Czech Republic would win Eurovision 2020... Barbora is in... I'm sure y'all can put two and two together.

Now the songs please! I wish we had the song titles at least to wait this week.

A couple quick thoughts:

• As has already been mentionned, the 1st and 2nd televote places are set. Unless Olga and Ben both sent something really bad and both get a bottom placement with the jury, one of them is our future representative. I'd say the realistic probability of it being one of these two is about 90%
• This is great news for Eurovision's popularity in . I don't appreciate Ben's music, but if he's going, I guess our TV ratings will double in May.
• It's such a pity we apparently don't do the busking challenge anymore! I'd love to see some Prague metro stations blocked by the listening crowds, the mental image of it is just too fun

Benny Cristo wins Czech national selection for Eurovision 2020

With a combined total of 22 points for his song 'Kemama', Benny Cristo has won the Czech national selection ESCZ. Benny received 12 points from the public and 10 from the jury. He will represent the Czech Republic on 14 May in the second Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Just to give you guys an idea about how big (a name) Ben is here: 800k followers on instagram, that's more than Bilal (or all of our finalists and representatives since 2015 combined). Crazy catch! I hope he brought something at least semi-good. His interview in Czech on the link above is promising in that aspect - he mentions he tries to be above genres, experimenting with something different every day - so maybe he could positively surprise

His music label Championship music writes on FB that Ben's song will surprise us, so I expect something unusual from him. I think he's the one doing afro pop song. Would be cool if he brought some real afro music elements into his song.

I hope to be quite surprised by his music because I don't like his current musical style. It would be the best thing to happen in the Czech Republic now: a well-known singer with a competitive song on Eurovision.

• There's gonna be 5 second snippets of the music videos without sound on Friday and 15 second audio snippets on Sunday (yaaaay)

5-second MV snippets with no sound? Now that's what I call doing the most.

So she's in with a ballad? I'm interested. And the shade she was trying to throw at Baby-ora will cost her points. She probably hasn't heard of Mikaela Minga yet.

Hoping for Barbora Mochowa to win if she brings something as good as "True colors" again! That probably isn't happening though, given the popularity of Ben and Olga
