I was hoping for some more changes to various things (I thought they said they were going to tone down the spoken word bits a little?) but in terms of what's here I'm happy. The song is still slightly repetitive but they've improved on the ending significantly. Upgrading from a 5 to a 6, I suppose.

The official Version doesn't give me much, but I hope he will make it once again live. :D

At least they changed the second spoken part. It's better for me but still not a real contender.

the spoken parts were a highlight of the song because it's 65% responsible for how mid-00s-indie-for-teenagers it sounds (the other 35% is albert just being alex turner on a good hair day), so it didn't really make sense to get rid of them, but it was just one of them so it's fine. this has grown on me quite a bit mostly because albert is so charismatic and could sell me anything so it didn't really need to change anything.

This will shock the fandom in May. It's going to do really well. Not a winner, but I think top 10. The general public will go in for this.

i actually agree lol. this won't do better than mikolas because that's how it is in this bitch of an earth, but in my eyes albert is so riding his dorky stare to the left side of the scoreboard in the final. people are sleeping on HOW charismatic he is. even jamala had no uncomfortable questions to make, let alone everyone else.

I didn't really notice what they changed to be honest. I expected a more drastic revamp.

I haven't played the song since it won, thinking it would maybe help me to change my mind, but it didn't: it's plodding and not particularly interesting or enjoyable to listen to for me.

3 points.

One thing I noticed is that they didn't change the key. Albert mentioned that they plan to lower the key by 1 full note, but in the official video it's the same key as in the original studio version. It would be safer for Albert to lower it as in their Vidbir performance - his high notes in the chorus sounded much more confident than in the unplugged performance of the original version he did during the NF.

Actually the song has grown on me and the revamp does its job fine. It's subtle and doesn't take away the original version sound, this is how you do a revamp Spain.
I love the video though, creatively done. This is how you interject fans into your video. I hope this qualifies as the lead singer of the band does really push the song better 'live'.

I've been listening to this all week. It's quirky, catchy, instantly likeable and the singer is adorable. 12 points and I think possible top 5 or even top 3 with a good, memorable performance. I'd love Czechia to snatch some weaves this year.

So I sent them message asking about the key and they confirmed it will be lower during their live performance, they kept it in original key for the studio version.

One thing that's catching my eye...

Last year Mikolas spoke in interview that had no contact with other singers who have represented the Czech Republic before him and felt sorry for it. He said that the czech singers should be more united and that the next representative of the country would have their support. But it seems that Mikolas is acting different from what he "promised".

He didn't congratulate Lake Malawi on winning the national final, doesn't follow the band on the Instagram and gave no message of support to them (on anywhere). In fact, Mikolas only left a message for Tamta, who represents another country. Is he still upset about the result of the national final or will he simply ignore the representative of his country this year?

Tumblr, mostly.
I'd rather not think of Mikolas at all, tbh. I reallllllllly dislike the guy on a primordial level and I don't feel like unleasing a rant at his address rn (I'll need my energy for other things, kthx), but oh my god mr. "I left the the modelling industry because it treats people like objects => enters eurovision with a fuckboi anthem that objectifies women by talking graphically about sex" is a hypocrite?? Never saw THAT coming.

Never like Mikolas and his persona plus his song was so overrated. At least Lake Malawi comes across more genuine. I wish them the best, they are currently sitting in my top 15.

You don't objectify women by talking graphically about sex. What kind of logic is that?xfacepalm A prim person may be shocked by somebody talking about sex, that's the only thing that can happen. As far as I know Mikolas's song is about his personal experience of being cheated on, nothing less, nothing more. I don't know him personally so I don't know what kind of a person he is but I find it really unfair to judge him based on nothing.
Besides we don't know if/how much he is in contact with Lake Malawi or even if they want him to publically talk into their experience. They get asked about him and compared to him enough as it is.
