Here is a post from the official Instagram account of the Cypriot delegation confirming that "Liar" is the name of Cyprus' entry for ESC 2024.

Tumblr, mostly.
I sure as hell fucking hope this isn't true.

Cyprus taking a reject.

A reject from GREECE.

Who lost to VICTOR.

The same Victor who went on to earn Greece's WORST RESULT EVER

IN A TELEVOTE. EVER.

and THAT is the song they're giving to a MINOR so she can humilate herself at Eurovision EXACTLY like Victor did?

That better not be the fucking plan. If it is, I hope RiC crawls under a rock and never resufraces again.

I understand your frustration with RIK. First, they had a plan for a national final that simply didn't work out, and now this song. But I wouldn't be so hard on RIK. They are trying to do they best that they can with the limited resources that they have.

WTF?
I am afraid the title is not accidental although I still want to believe it... :(

If it isn't a coincidental title which seems unlikely with Kontopolous behind it than as you said Liar was intended to be sung in 2023 by :gr: Melissa Makountzis (who ultimately came 2nd in the internal selection).

It was also rumored before that :ru: Klava Koka was going to sing it in 2022 before Russia got banned by the EBU. Technically this means the songs has been partially commercially released.

Is this the same Liar from last year? Why did Melissa's snippet sound way better 💀

I agree that it sounds dated. The snippet sounded decent until the 0:20 mark where they just kept adding every single trick and effect to the instrumental.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but get the Swedish writers who made Ela, please ;-;

EDIT it is the same song askldfksdf cyprus u mess

Melissa's voice fits better imo

"ELA' sounded Divine, fresh and organic indeed. Maybe the producers could save that hell of a track because the snippet sounds really dated.
To me it was one of the best Cypriot entries. It was just destroyed by the live performance.

I'm taking the so called leak with a pinch of salt. As for the song from Melissa Mantsoukis, there was never mention of Dimitris Kontopoulos before, and it seems odd ERT not selecting it if it was indeed him and it's the same song. They normally work with him when he's available. I wonder what changed. It could also be that this song that Silia is doing is a different song, that could well have been written two years ago and been intended for Russia, and that leak is just simply Melissa Mantsoukis with the pitch altered to make it sound different.

But if it does indeed turn out that the song is the same song as Melissa, then an absolute shitstorm is inevitable, and I could well see a situation where if it makes the final, the Greek jury could actually outright snub it. Another major Eurodrama incoming it seems.

I don't get the fuss, the snippet sounds perfectly fine. Guess this is just the ESC fandom being the ESC fandom again.

Sounds good! I want to listen to the whole song, but I believe that it could get a position in my personal top 10. It's a little too basic for me to place it in the top 3, but the rest of the song could surprise me.

Preparing my 12. There's a reason Cyprus is now one of my favourite countries in Eurovision, the non stop delivery of great entries. xheat
