I'm glad that Tamta made it and I'm hoping for the best in the final. However, I see this ending up somewhere around the 15th place.

It was already a miracle that this qualified. It's absolutely unimpressive and forgettable. A very poor "fuego wannabe" version. I could see why people loved "fuego" so much (even not being my type of song at all), it's played in every gay club here in Lisbon and it makes you want to dance it makes you feel involved somehow. But this should have never made it. Can't see this ending even near the top 10, but I wouldn't be surprised anymore if this happened.

I think it's time the fans stopped underestimating the song. General public doesn't compare every detail of this song and performance to Fuego and enjoys it a lot.

It was very well received last night, I'd even say it's gotten the biggest amount of attention on social media and is clearly the most viewed song from last night on YouTube.

You are actually right. Which means that Tamta's song is a bit more popular than Katerina's i guess.

I think people have been a bit way too harsh to this song. Just because it's coming after Eleni, so many waited to judge her about every little bit of her performance.We have a nicer song than Fuego, with really mediocre vocals and a rather stiff singer. Biggest problems are probably the weak/static camera work, and the exteme amount of voice processing. Even when she is in the note, it sounds ''wrong'' just because what we hear isn't relatable to the studio version. Biggest mistake imo. Still enjoying listening to it.
I predict that she will pull off a La la love (15th-18th place).

Poland was the most populous country in this semifinal (Population of 38 million, plus diaspora). The second most populous was Australia (25 million).

Meanwhile, Tamta couldn't have achieved this in this way, as even population of Cyprus, Greece and Georgia joined together is lower than Australia's. Go figure.

I think you should take into account popularity of the contest in the country rather than the population.
Greek fans were crazy in the press room whenever Greek or Cypriot rehearsal was on. Like the Spanish, they are quite passionate about their own country's entry.
Greece (NQ) last year for example had much more views than most qualifier countries with more population.

Lol, then so you could say about Australia and Poland, especially that they have bigger populations. Even if their 'fans are less passionate' then they still have bigger populations to make up for the fact.

Yeah, same with people I know Cyprus seems to be liked by people from outside the ESC bubble.

And tbh I was sceptical of 'Tamta's rehearsals were bad', 'Tamta can't sing' statements. Last few years people were saying the same things about Netta and Blanche, that supposedly they can't sing.

Expected qualification. The song is still great, but many things are not "right" here sadly.

And yes, Tamta's singing was "correct", but the whole staging needs to be more dynamic, it feels too stiff.


I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being a "fan flop". The song is good, the performance sadly....not as much.
