I'll be writing down for you what I hear, every artist has recorded an intro message and then the song is played:

1. Alen Đuras - Tamburitza Lullaby

- a house fast paced song with Croatian traditional instrument tamburitza
- in English!
- very good!

2. Let 3 - Babaroga

- OH DEAR GOD
- IT IS CRAZIER THAN MAMA ŠČ
- TECHNO ROCK
- Very hymnic, MELODIC, HAPPY TUNE
- It's not political
- Better than Mama ŠČ melodically, lyrics are more children's song
- the intro to the song is spoken
- GREAT!

3. Noelle - Baby Baby

- in Croatian
- Swedish soft house bop with a bit of bass guitar in the undertone that makes if feel VERY ROCKY
- actually quite good!
- downfall: lacks some break to make it more dynamic, a bit repetitive
- overall pretty good

4. Boris Štok: Can we talk (the authors are Irish as he says in the intro and that's already suspicious haha):

- piano intro of only 2 tones, his voice as usual great as it is
- then it goes into some Coldplay or Simple Minds tune
- power ballad
- it's actually beautiful
- dynamic, many tempo changes
- female recorded back vocals as a choir in the choruses
- a bit like Ciuto Tuto - Lithuania last year
- overall nice, but not very impactful, could be NQ or borderline Q

5. Natalie Balmix - Dijamanti (Diamonds)

- oh no, it starts good with impactful intro and then goes into some 2 notes Harry Styles BS with a bit of violins in breaks
- painful to hear high notes, extremly shallow unappealing voice colour
- a knock off melodically from Coldplay's Viva La Vida, if not even legally liable to copyright infringement
- NO!!!

6. Pavel: Do mjeseca (To the Moon)

- ABBA alike intro
- a lot of ABBA!!!
- ABBA ALL ABBA, SWEDISH POP ALL OVER
- Very cheerful song
- it's too much ABBA, like a blend between The winner takes it all and Dancing Queen
- Yup, it's Croatian Dancing Queen!!!
- Very good!

7. Marcela - Gasoline

- Harry Styles intro
- Harry Styles As it was 2 notes repetitive all throughout mid-fast tempo song
- Nice vocal
- I have nothing to say but Harry's As it was sang by a female power vocal so better than Harry haha, but not very original
- Typical Dutch pop, meaning NQ 🤣

8. Erna - How do you love me

- Amazing vocal
- Jazzy Amy Winehouse vocal !!!
- A pop rock power ballad, fast tempoed, something like a James Bond song sang by Amy Winehouse
- Vocals out of this world!!
- A nice rocky guitar break with beautiful high pitch scream
- THE BEST SO FAR !!!

9. Vinko Ćemeraš - Lying Eyes

- a ballad with piano intro
- Kings of Leon on piano and a sprinkle of acoustic guitar
- boring
- boring
- I fell asleep
- He sings beautifully, but there's no song here
- NO
- started visualizing Baby Lasagna's legs out od boredom 🤣

10. Lana Mandarić - More (The sea)

- It's just an American pop song, as old as Mary J. Blige 🤣
- Something that maybe TLC would release on MTV back in the '00's
- NO!

11. James Night - Nebo plače (The sky cries) (in the intro he says he's crazy, I hope you are, I'm napping since Vinko haha)

- Knocks off as a vocal techno song
- Bad vocal and also very feminine, but not in a good way
- The lyrics are tacky
- He sounds like my 9 yrs old nephew singing Jelena Karleuša's song
- NO! Next please

12. Saša Lozar - Ne plačem zbog ne (I'm not crying for her)

- typical Saša, a boring pop ballad for Croatian local radio
- NEXT PLEASE AND NEXT!
- Now that was a smoke break

13. Barbara Munjas - Nepobjediva (Invincible)

- sort of like last year, same recipe
- I'm not sure if this one is any different from the last year's song
- well if you liked her last year then you'll like her this year as well 🤣

14. Lara Demarin - Ne vjerujem ti (I don't trust you)

- violins intro
- RnB break
- Mary J. Blige's song literally, she's got male rap vocals recorded
- she and Lana Mandarić have the same song, different tempo only 🤣

15. The Splitters - Otkad te sanjam (Since I dream of you)

- The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby mixed in a pop studio in Malmö
- Boring
- Same as Lozar, a song for local radio
- NO!

16. Misha - One day (in the intro they say they have a Eurovision winning song and slander the rest that they compete only to promote bland songs and not to represent Croatia at ESC, which is true, but if your song is BS bye bye haha)

- starts off as a house song
- it's just a house song extremly repetitive
- Lion King vocals
- They were just cocky
- Bye Bye

17. E.T. - Pametnom dosta (Sapiento sat)

- E.T.'s (Euro) dance from the 90's
- local radio Slavonia will put this into rotation, maybe
- NO!
- oh yes, the Slovenes will love this one, it's their drinking dance song 🤣

18. Lu Dedić - Plavi leptir (Blue butterfly)

- OK this is actually a conceptual ambiental house song, and it's decent, but not for the ESC

19. Vatra - Slatke suze, gorka ljubav (Sweet tears, sour love)

- country intro on Croatian instrument mandoline (Italians don't kill me 🤣)
- then drum bass joins in
- then guitar
- hymnic mid tempo
- I like it
- Estonia 2022
- yup it's supposed to be a happy hymnic song but has that sad nostalgic undertone
- I like it, but it's borderline Q

20. Stefani - the one about God and faith and better tommorrow

- It's that pop ballady song about God Vanna would sing so NO!

21. Eugen - Tišine (Silences)

- A modern version of Željko Joksimović
- A modern Balkan ballad for Eurovision
- ESC Bubble would be a sucker for this one, but general audience hardly
- Then violins - bass house break in the end
- I like it, but also a borderline Q

22. Battifiaca - Ferlin - Croatian Radiotelevision hosts filler song 🤣

- as mentioned above, HRT's filler song

23. Damir Kedžo - Voljena ženo (Beloved woman)

- Kedžo's power ballad
- Cringefest of lyrics
- Boring as ...
- NO!
- Me thinking how Let 3 are genius and Baby Lasagna has great legs
- End this
- Now he belts and screams
- And end this
- How many times can he scream Beeeloveeeed
- NO!
- it ended thank God

24. Baby Lasagna -

- starts as a smash
- it's metal techno
- TRANCE METAL
- IT'S GREAT
- SOMETHING FINLAND WOULD SEND
- A BOMB!!!
- OH GOD COMPLETE CHANGE INTO DIFFERENT TECHNO BREAK
- CROATIAN RADIO TELEVISION PUT THIS ON A RESERVE LIST ARE THEY CRAZY???
- YES CROATIAN RADIO TELEVISION IS OFFICIALLY CRAZY, TASTELESS OR BRIBED!!!
- THIS WOULD HIT THE ESC ARENA AUDIENCE HARDER THAN CHA CHA CHA!!!!!
- IT'S A SMASH!!!!
- IT WOULD BE A TELEVOTE WINNER!!!

CROATIAN RADIO TELEVISION - SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE! SHAME!

BABY LASAGNA IS THE WINNER !!!!!!!!!

I'm going to hazard a guess that if Baby Lasagna was a reserve artist it doesn't really matter if the Eurovision and Croatia fans love it the juries will probably pay it dust.

Is it the juries who decided on the final line up or is that a different group in charge of that?

It wasn't even in the original line up. You think the juries are going to give it a high score at Dora?

It won't matter, it's a banger, it's going to explode next 2 months in the public and the televote will work around this.

Someone wrote that it's dreadful. Well so was Kaarija for Honest Vocal Coach. 🤣

For sure this is not Chemical Brothers, but let's be honest, can anyone imagine this type of song not qualifying from televote only semifinal to Grand Final?

No!

That's the point!

This is, together with Let 3, the only memorable song of Dora 2024.

If he also finds great staging options, then he's a bomb. Plus he's super charismatic.

And that's pretty much all that matters.

Also don't underestimate the guy, he currently has no.1. selling album in German official charts that he wrote and produced for his brother's band.

No, the juries don't select the songs that compete for Dora, but HRT employees! How else would HRT's employees Battifiaca and Ferlin end up in these selected 24?

He has to qualify to the Dora final first.

Just remember last year when I said from the beggining that Let 3 would win and nobody outside Croatia could see it. And then... 🤣

This Dora will be between Let 3 and Baby Lasagna.

The televote here understands better than foreigners the context of both songs.

Let 3 failed to provide interesting lyrics this year eventhough the song alone is much much better than Mama ŠČ, so televote will go with Baby Lasagna and the juries again for Let 3.

And that's about it, we'll see who will draw the final straw.

P.S. Also, to enunciate once more, the juries that will vote on Dora didn't put Baby Lasagna on the reserve list, but Dora 2024 director and his 3 pals.

P.P.S. For those who didn't catch the meaning of Lasagna's song, it is about Balkan's peasant turbo folk and trap music culture!

P.P.P.S. The most posted message on Croatian forum right now is: THANK YOU ZSA ZSA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

P.P.P.P.S. Gabe is on board, and Twitter is exploding hahaha, told ya"

Totally forgot to write, Baby Lasagna's intro message to the audience before the song was aired:

Only 2 days ago I found out I'm in as someone had withdrawn and now I'm panicking. Pray for me that I don't vommit on stage.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, he was already on Dora in 2019 with group Manntra and came 4th.

Last year my Dora top 3 was:

1-Insanely energetic rock song (Krešo & Kisele Kiše)
2-Meri Andraković
3-Let 3

This year my Dora top 3 is:

1-Insanely energetic rock song (Baby Lasagna)
2-ET (Meri Andraković is their new lead singer)
3-Let 3

My overall impression is much worse than last year... "Kme Kme" was lyrically a very good critique of our society,
"Rim tim tagi dim" is just riding on the Cha Cha train.
"Bye Bye Blonde" sounded retro but cool, while "Pametnom dosta" is a fossil of a song and i'm only into it because i like that ET didn't derivative too much from their usual style.
Let 3 is also their usual self and i love them for it. (but minus points for the high pitch throughout the song)
I'm here for their another victory, but don't expect as good of a result like last year.

Tumblr, mostly.
heard babaroga.

derivative and stupid, even moreso than mama sc was. woeful and nihilistic to its core. can't wait to see zoran in drag which will elicit exactly ONE chuckle, and then never hear it again (unless it wins the nf which so help me gods it better does not.)

edit: listened to the other fave. MILES better than let3, obviously derivative of cha cha cha and less good, but still fun. SAVE US BABY LASAGNA.
