Going into this national final totally blind. All I know is that Let3 is already trying to return and there’s a band called Baby Lasagna (unless I’m being pranked)
I watched all 16 finalist songs once each last night, in the order they will be performed tonight. Those "preview videos" I watched on YouTube last night must have been from the qualifying rounds of Dora 2024.

As much as I love several of them, I hope that Croatia doesn't only start entering "joke entries" to Eurovision. It would really ruin the ordinary Croatians view of what Eurovision is and it would prevent serious acts from entering

Rim Tim is not joke entry. It's about boy leaving his village for a better life. It a very serious topic, seen very often in Croatian music for a long time, especially traditional music.
It's only written with a humorous lyric twist and upbeat music.

I love how this song literally translates as “drink water to get sober”

I’ll play it after every time I go out drinking from now on

Song 1: Natalie Balmix – "Dijamanti"
A good introduction, but it's not long before a beat can be heard, and Natalie is joined by four dancers. The title means "Diamonds", which explains the significance of her sparkling outfit. A reasonable entry to start with, but would this be competitive enough for Eurovision? Maybe not.

I know that they're not joke entries in the sense of Dustin the Turkey but they (and that includes also Let 3 etc.) are very humorous and shocking in their presentation. To the average viewer they will read as less serious than e.g. a typical pop balad with a generic love message

I liked that. Sometimes I find sparkling outfits already boring, but I loved hers.
