Tried to fix the broken pieces, now I'm leaving
But you made it loud and clear I’m not enough
Tried to fool me more than once to keep me dreaming
'Cause you knew the truth would tear us apart

If you pull me down then I'll come around
And rise up to come show you who I am
I feel fire inside, my heart’s desire
I'm breaking free from you

Tick-tock, watch the days go
I'm losing track of time
Lost in your playzone
Don't overcomplicate
Now we're in warzone
You're screaming, "Oh no, oh no, oh no"

Tick-tock, I'll take you dancing
In time wе might break
You think you're fancy
I play those gamеs my way and you’ll be beggin’
"Please baby, don't go, don’t go, don't go"

I hear those voices from far away
They help me to escape (Escape)
I found myself and I'm finally free from
Your bad love in every strength

Tick-tock, watch the days go
I'm losing track of time
Lost in your playzone
Don’t overcomplicate
Now we're in warzone
You're screaming, "Oh no, oh no, oh no"

Dancin', dancin'
Think you, think you fancy
Tick-tock
Don't go, don't go, don't go

I hear those voices from far away
They help me to escape (Escape)
I found myself and I'm finally free from
Your bad love in every strength

Tick-tock, vrijeme curi, gdje si više
Usne grizem, sama jedva dišem
Tick-tock vrijeme juri ne mogu više
Oh no, oh no

Tick-tock, I'll take you dancing
In time we might break
You think you're fancy
I play those games my way and you'll be beggin'
"Please baby, don't go, don't go, don't go"

Dancin', dancin'
Think you, think you fancy
Tick-tock
Don't go, don't go, don't go

Same here, I heard all songs and Croatia needs to send Nina again if they want to be back in the final. It's such a pleasure to hear that magical instrumental part. I hope her vocals are a bit better than in 2016 btw.

Oh I'm so glad Nina is back with such a good song! It's even more epic than Lighthouse... I really hope that she will be able to take revenge for 2016 and get a better staging and outfit!

I also like Filip Rudans song, well it's okay but he has so much more potential. I was so obsessed with his One Direction Drag Me Down cover for a long time haha... Also good luck to him.

That's weird... why is HRT re-uploading the snippets?

Only one ultimate fave in this selection for me and it's Nina. Such a gr8 come back this can be xbow

That's how you make use out of "no 6 people limit" this year. This is a proper comeback indeed - slaying straight from the start.
I hope she took some vocal lessons during these few years, though...

Well...I haven't been active in this forum for quite a while, but I felt the need to say something. For the balance, if nothing else. :D

When I heard the snippets, I didn't feel like Nina stands out so I'm quite surprised by all the reactions. Surprised and confused. I'm wondering if the reactions are such just because there's some ethno sound or does that song really sound THAT good. It didn't impress me, but that might be because I'm not a fan of ethno and I'd prefer the song without those aaaaaaa parts and probably with just Nina or with backing vocalists that are more like the ones Damir had.

Another thing that I don't like in Nina's song is the way she overemphasizes some syllables. I know it's her style and I love her style actually. BUT she used to have a balance between emphasized syllables/parts of the song and those more silent ones, soft ones, almost like a flute. Now she's just loud throughout. The parts that bother me the most:
- her č, š, ž sound very hard, it's like she's doing it for the sole purpose of sounding more interesting. The result is that I don't feel like I'm listening to my own language
- she is even emphasizing the word "tišina", which means "silence", and the word "li" in "čuješ li me". "Li" is just a particle, the least important word in the whole line. It really doesn't feel right to hear those emphasized, at least not to me.

Maybe all this is irrelevant to many, but for me it spoils the song because there's an imbalance between what the lyrics mean and the way they are sang. My brain doesn't like it. :D

I also think we have tried with a Croatian sound soooo many times and I actually want us to send some modern pop song that no one expects to hear from Croatia.

I love Eric's beat and that funky vibe, and especially his soulful voice. That's all totally down my alley.

It seems to me that many prefer Mia's last song but I think this one is richer and better produced and that it lets her show off her vocal skills, which was missing in When It Comes to You. Her last year's song was a piece of cake for her to sing, she couldn't shine as bright as she can, so to speak.

And finally, I am looking forward to Albina's performance. The song sounds good, catchy, and we all know she can sing live. Just because it's not ethno, doesn't mean it doesn't represent Croatia well. Albina is Croatian and she likes this type of music. Therefore, it's Croatian. It's about time that the Croatian music moves away from its 2000s sound. It's 2021.

I wonder, though, @Euterpa. What do you think about Tony & Kiki?

The instrumental sounds good, although also having that old, familiar Croatian sound that imo, needs to go. :D Those lyrics though... Anti-covid, anti-measures message nicely wrapped in as ambiguous lyrics as possible so that they don't break any rules of the competition. That also made them quite cringey.

"As long as you dream, they can't do anything to you", "this time will pass just like all the others, don't be afraid, sing!", "Freedom is when you sing loudly and don't let anyone take away from you the world that you were building".

And the best part:

"You have the right to say what's in your heart even when you're wrong" - which sounds like a bad apology from Tony, for his organisation of the Festival of Freedom, where he was also a DJ.

The reporters are writing about Kiki's death threats to his ex-wife, because of which he is now on a 2 year conditional discharge. All in all, I hope they won't win because it all just goes from bad to worse.

Always interesting to see what Croatia selects for ESC. I must admit my favourite Croatian ESC-songs are from back in the 1990s (1995, 1998, 1999, what golden years for Croatia in ESC!) but I have often enjoyed their entries since 2000 also.

I have listened to the snippets and I particularly liked CAMBI (sounded like the estranged cousin of the imo cool 2005 Montenegro No Name song), Tony Cetinski (catchy melodic mid-tempo Balkan ballad-ish and I always like those) and Nina Kraljic (ethno-vibes in a style that appeals to me). Will be interesting to see who wins in the end. Best of luck, Croatia!

Albina already has the music video of Tick-Tock ready. It will be out right after Dora.
And it looks so promising! I saw it yesterday and I thought...Nina got her music video last minute, it was improvised out of a Hvar timelapse. Roko got his music video last minute, improvisation for which they used a scenography of Jesus Christ Superstar in which Jacques had a role. They changed the whole point of the song to justify that scenography and *that* video. Kedžo doesn't have his music video to this day (although he gets a pass, Miss Corona ruined everything), and whatever happened to the music video of My Friend, I don't even remember? Is there one? FINALLY an artist who didn't come here to play and means business. I'm so happy!!

TONY & KIKI NEWS

- according to 24sata, Tony & Kiki won't be disqualified over Kiki being convicted and on a conditional discharge, as the rules for Dora 2021 say nothing about that. They also note that Vuco (Siniša Vuco, father of Brigita who is competing this year) was disqualified 14 years ago due to allegations of domestic violence
- they also asked Tony if his song is anti-vax and about Covid-19 as many people think and he replied, quote:

"Those are just trolls, they haven't even heard the song yet and they are already talking about it. The song speaks for itself, about the freedom of movement, freedom of being informed... about being able to hug and kiss again, to sing and hang out like before. About this "new normal" not being here anymore, because that is not normal. One of the most endangered freedoms is the freedom of speech and critical thinking without being stigmatised and judged. It is not connected to corona or vaccination. Have a bit more patience and you'll hear it. It has its message and meaning, motivated by everything we've been through recently and what we hope will not be repeated ever again."

So...he said it doesn't have to do with corona and then explained the song with mentioning something corona-related in each sentence.

Tomorrow I will switch off Sweden and Norway and just concentrate on DORA. And I'll hope that Nina makes it!

Nina's odds for winning are now at 43% and I just refuse to believe we'll have such an easy win in one of the best editions of Dora ever (if not THE best ever). I want competitiveness and all the excitement that comes with it. All this hype around Nina is making the contest boring and predictable. I guess Nina could win the televote for sure, but how will jury teams feel about her song? Last year, they gave a slight advantage to a modern pop sound of Mia. Uncertainty is all I want. xD

Edit: I just checked and saw that Barbara Pravi's final odds of winning were at 41%. Nina being a more predictable winner than Barbara just doesn't seem realistic to me, at all. I feel like the hype around her is starting to cross some borders of rationality. I'm finding it hard to accept it as realistic. xD

I think the running order will hurt her.. The juries hmm I don't think they will be keen on her too much.. I think Mia or Filip will win.

y'all shouldn't forget this is just based on snippets!! the rest of the song of Nina might be bad (although i have to admit i love it)

now as for the hype around it, i totally get it. this is a proper ethnic song, smth that we all want from balkans every single year!
