Isn't that good though? I mean, sure we don't even know if he likes the contest, but it is sorta too late to withdraw after all otherwise it will be a bigger fine for you. Maybe he has contacts from other areas in the Croatian music industry, artists that might been unlikely to see in ESC but that he can convince in competing in the contest?

Well, he's from HRT's Musical Department and he was in the commitee that choose Josie for JESC2014. We'll see, but I'm not an optimist.

Commitee that has chosen Josie was made out of these people: Maja Tokić (main director HTV2), Željko Mesar (HRT music production), Željan Klašterka (HRT music production), Silvija Skender (HRT kids sth XD) i Aleksandar Kostadinov (HOD).
So it means, it is either Željko Mesar or Željan Klašterka...

oh #facepalm, I am sorry I saw Croatian in the comments before so I forgot that we are on english forum and just went on by automatism
A new HOD that should be good I just hope that it is someone young and enthusiastic, that will understand ESC and bring a modern era of Croatian appearance on ESC.

Eh, why is everyone overreacting so much?
ESC starts in May. There is still A PLENTY of time left.
Let us all just relax, take some coffee and wait couple more months when we finally give a possible hint at who might be representing us and then announce the artist a week later.
Then, we will open a preselection for everyone who wants to submit a song for our singer just couple of weeks before ESC starts.
Then we finally select our song 2 days before eurovision.
Plenty of time, I´m telling ya!

"According to my informations, they are calculating with songs that other countries will choose, no need for pressure, everything will be on time. Many countries will announce their songs between 26th and 28th February. HRT (Nina) have 2 really good songs and they want to choose the one which will stand out from the other and have a bigger chance on the Eurovision. There's a 99% chance that they'll announce the song on 27th February in 'The Voice Croatia', that's the date when the duels start, or in a special show the day after. That's all you need to know. Be patient, they are doing well." (and the rest you already know)

It can be a good strategy. Let's just hope the songs are indeed good.
But if that is the case, they could just announce Nina as the representative now and announce the song later.

Yes.
Actually Conchtia was preparing an up-tempo song, but plans changed when most of the countries in the 2nd Semifinal started picking up-tempo songs.
