Re: CROATIA 2016

Why English? Her song Zaljuljali Smo Svijet is amazing (thank you FSC) xheart I want to listen a song in croatian from her :(

She is preparing some Croatian songs as well. Honestly, if she really goes at esc, I think she most probably will sing in English. But do not worry, she says: "I always sing for people, if only 5 people will listen me and recognize true me, I will sing for them, it is huge responsibility. I do not want to sing for masses. I want to feel comfortable in what I sing because I do not want to lie to people."
Sooo...even if she sings in English do not worry, she will stay herself. :) :D

Re: CROATIA 2016

Hold on guys, Jelena Rozga is releasing her new single Otrov tomorrow, so it might be a sign.

And the guy who started the rumour has a dissociative identity disorder. Not a good person to trust, tho. Why go with a person that didn't want to go to Eurovision in 2012 because she wanted to focus her career on Balkan region?

ESC United, words can't describe how I'm disappointed in you because of that article about Rozga. No one in Croatia talked about that possibility, only the one that Nina Kraljić will represent us and you probably founded a rumour on escforum from a guy that has a dissociative identity disorder and is known for lying. Shame on the guy who wrote that, shame on you because you made it published!

They even wrote this:

Many press also are claming that she will the Croatian representative in Stockholm and to support those theories is her latest single Otrov (Venom) that she has published today and it is 3 minutes long. Here is the song.

I wonder, what press? xrofl xrofl xrofl

What author of article doesn't know is that if Rozga goes at eurovision, I'm sure, 99,99%, Tonći Huljić wouldn't let anyone but himself to write the song. And Otrov is not written by him...article is really no sense.

Re: CROATIA 2016

Well this isn't the first time ESC United made a mistake does anybody remembers when they announced that Skopje-Fest will be our national final based on a mistranslated news article(which was later fixed).

I didn't write the article but apologies if we've written false information. We try not to post unless there's either strong rumours (for speculation purposes) or a solid source so I'm sorry if misinformation has made it to the site.

No problem, I just wonder...article points that "Many press also are claiming that she will..." Can just author of article (do not know his/her nickname here so maybe if you can ask, it is not problem to me if I know who it is) explain what many press because in Croatia any press didn't report about this. They even didn't report (I found only one article at net.hr) so much about Croatia's return to esc.:confused:

It was posted in Blic, one of the biggest Serbian newspapers. I will go ahead and add that to the article. As Sean pointed out, it was very clear that those were rumors and nothing is confirmed. We categorized it accordingly.

Re: CROATIA 2016

WTF? There is article at Jutarnji.hr that states that Croatian participation is still under question. :?

It is written that final decision about participation are: finances (oh yeah, you can think so ) and possibility to find a way to select good artist (really??  ). Article states that one of possibilities for artist is to send Nina Kraljic - winner of the Voice. As she got more than 1,5 million votes during show that means she has legacy to go at eurovision. Furthermore, it also says if "they (HRT) decides for that possibility, that in 2017 winner of 2nd Voice season would go at esc".
Conclusion is that Croatia reserved its place on this competition but that final statement will be made by the end of the December.

I'm really confused now. Is it possible that EBU will leave HRT without penalties if they decide to withdrew? They will make final decision until end of December? PamSwynford do you also think this mean they are maybe wait to see who will form Parliament?

Source: http://www.jutarnji.hr/hrvatska-za-2016--rezervirala-mjesto-na-eurosongu/1466819/

Jutarnji is pretty reliable source if you ask me...xshrug

Some other media reported about Croatia's comeback at eurovision:
net.hr wrote that they wrote to HRT and that HRT confirmed Croatian comeback at esc to them. http://net.hr/hot/glazba/nakon-krace-apstinencije-hrvatska-se-vraca-na-eurosong/

On the other side Slobodna Dalmacija also wrote that Croatia keeps "this place for now" but that from HRT they told that "Croatia didn't submit it is sign for eurovision but that EBU gave that possibility" (closest to nominal translation, nominal translation would be that Croatia didn't make sign but that EBU have secured platform for that) yup, I also do not know on what they refer.  http://www.slobodnadalmacija.hr/Spe...ype/ArticleView/articleId/308090/Default.aspx

When HRT obviously don't want to tell clearly, maybe someone who has access can ask to EBU or something similar? Matt?

Re: CROATIA 2016

Hele., my sources on HRT said that we are coming back. Unfortunately, Jutarnji list for several years has a anti-Eurovision campain and since Mamić's lawyer is now the owner, they aren't reliable. The same goes to Slobodna Dalmacija, also a part of Mamić's lawyer's reign. The time for withdrawing without paying the penalty has passed way before.

Re: CROATIA 2016

I can reach out to the EBU but from what I can see there seems to be a lack of understanding of the Eurovision rules by that media outlet. Croatia can still withdraw but still would have to pay the fee and a potential penalty fee. In addition, they could be banned from entering the contest if they choose to withdraw after the deadline has passed.

Honestly, I doubt the EBU would have made an official announcement if they didn't know for sure that they'd take part. But I'll send them a message to confirm.

Thank you both for encouraging words! :) xrunhug xrunhug xlove I really hope so for this because I doubt HRT would pay so high fee. I'm just afraid if they have some special agreement with EBU...:?

I see at net.hr they deleted words about confirmation (and I can swear I read them) but same is with index.hr. It is stated:

"u ovom trenutku možemo potvrditi da je Hrvatska radiotelevizija osigurala mogućnost sudjelovanja hrvatskog predstavnika na 61. Eurosongu u Stockholmu 2016. godine"

which means

"in this moment we (HRT) can confirm that HRT has secured possibility of participation of Croatian representative at 61st Eurovision in Stockholm 2016".
Source: http://www.index.hr/black/clanak/novac-vise-nije-problem-hrvatska-se-vraca-na-eurosong/858504.aspx

Same statement was at net.hr

I'm afraid of word "possibility".

Just really hope they do not withdraw after this as it would be more painful if they just withdraw...:(
