Oh sorry for the poor choice of words, 43 people get questioned by the police because they voted in a television song contest. Yeah, nothing wrong here.

you are right. poor music taste is no crime :)

but if someone claims that "people got arrested" then the least he could do is at least keep the facts straight.

Not 43 people were questioned but only one who only claimed that he was interrogated because of casting vote for Armenia (most probably the reason was something else!). In fact the rest 42 persons were not interrogated and this number appeared when Ictimai and Azercell had to reveal the actual number of votes casted for Armenia

This is crap, they did not say '' you shall vote in the semi final '' they said '' we also did it in the semi final ''.
And you can't trust Ictamai TV.
Crap is your desperate accusations here. You even accuse us in much more than what is actually stated in all those articles.

this will never end :)

apparently every time someone votes for Azerbaijan they will now to have to show a notarized proof statement. Otherwise some members on this forum won't be able to sleep at night :D

Oikotimes is one of the worst Eurofan sites

Here, I have a source (in French) that says Azercell, a subsidiary of Swedish TeliaSonera, was watching everyone who voted for Armenia for exemple and was allowed to take down the opposants to Aliev. The article also mentions the purchase of votes for Azer... : Nouvelles d'Arménie en Ligne

impeccable logic! let's see... Romania gave 10 points to Azerbaijan in 2011 and 2013. Does it mean that Azerbaijan bought Romanian votes too? They should have according to your logic. No? ;)

and what about those bloody Ukrainians? They always give Azerbaijan high points. Azeris must have bought them too :)

Oh please, just getting high points don't mean cheating you fool, if so 39 countries was cheating this year. Maybe they did buy Romanian votes as they did this in 15 countries.
Its not impossible that they bought Ukraines vote.

Oh please, how about the forced evicitions against local residents just because they wanted to build the arena? I heard an interview with one of the locals that said they had gotten no money from the goverment.
And not only we can see this, remember Anke in 2012 '' Europe is watching you ''

They didn't buy Romanian votes! People here vote for :md:, :gr: and :az: whatever they send and not because they buy our votes but because we like the countries. I have friends who vote for :gr: every year because they say it's a beautiful country, same goes for :az:!

I'm not arguing about votes to Azerbaijan here by the way. I think the song benefited from an excellent draw and a memorable performance, of course it was going to place well and of course Azerbaijan didn't buy all those votes. Actually when it comes to votes this year I'm more inclined to believe the votes of the Yugoslav countries were rigged in favour of Denmark, although of course I'm merely speculating (but this is what this crazy thread is for isn't it?)

Apparently you were not at this forum when I proved the fact the arena was built on a territory which was empty even before we won the contest. In fact the area around Crystal Hall was also under major redevelopment far before we won the contest. It all started in 2008 with construction of Flag Square and furthermore it went on until the Crystal Hall was put on place.

In general, all people whose houses or apartments get demolish due to redevelopment of the city get compensation either money (app. 1500 AZN per sq m) or new apartments. Another story is when some people aren't satisfied with these conditions.

Anke better watch out that her country does not repeat once more something what her country did already twice the recent history ;)

oh god, i cannot believe, i read all of this. it took me about an hour! :)

ok, i don't believe any of this, until i see the actual evidence or unless somebody steps out and says: "yes, we bought votes". so to me, this video proves nothing. i think, that some people are just angry of azerbaijan and their succes in the competition and they made the whole thing up. however, if this is true, then EBU should really think, what to do next, beacuse this is not fair. but like i said, i really doubt, this is true.

Yes! I can vote whoever and by what reason I want. I am not a juror and I can be subjective If I want to. It's not my case because I am a Eurovision fan and I voted for those countries only when I believed that they deserved it, but people can be subjective if they want to. Maybe some people that voted for :ua: voted because the singer was beautiful even if they didn't like the song, may be some people voted for :ru: in 2008 because of Pushcenko even if they didn't like the song, maybe some people voted :fi: in 2006 because of the masks even if they didn't like the song. Jurors have to be objective, televoters can vote however thay want!

They can, but it's not a song contest anymore but a beauty contest or nation contest. People are supposed to judge the SONGS, not the beauty of the singers, their outfits or the countries they represent.

What people need to learn here is to judge the entries, not the countries. Sure, Azerbaijan is a problematic country with a lot of unsolved issues and I'm not going to defend the government, but to accuse every single achievement without a solid proof is ridiculous :) Maybe everyone is bored and in need of a topic? It's getting really boring hearing these false assumptions year after year.
