Offcourse, but I don't think a little diversity is a bad thing.

The best entries are the ones though that can in an somewhat cool way combine modern and culture in one entry.

Yeah, that's why we sent '' anatolian rock '' this year. It includes some Anatolian folk music melodies. :)

but maybe '' rimi rimi ley '' was really crap song, lack of modern melodies is not whole the reason, '' dum tek tek '' liked by us even it includes arabian folk melodies. :D

Turkey have done so many good songs over the last decade or so, like Manga, Kenan, Hadise and Athena, but it has to be Sertab Erener.

1997. Amazing song, ethno that didn't seem forced at all, unlike the ethno-wave in the 00's.
My greatest Eurovision guilty pleasure (among many) is Turkey 1991 though - they were irresistible in those colour-coordinated outfits!

I was SO tempted to vote for Iki Dakika (1991) because I used to love it so much when I was younger and it is such a great catchy song. I still know all the words to it, haha. In the end I voted for Beşinci Mevsim (1996). I loved it then and I love it now. I'm a sucker for folk/ethno songs. This has been a favorite of mine for 15 years now.

My favorite Turkish entries are:
1989, 1990, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2003

And I just realized now that I could have voted for all them. I didn't know. Argh!

I love 1997, 2003, and 2010.

But my absolute favorite Turkish entry is 1999. I don't really know why. The singer creeps me out a bit with her smile, but the song is niiiice.

We could be the same. Sory, but I cannot stand it.

Edit: Aaah, I have read worst one. Can anyone delete my "choice", please? However, I wonder why we have so many polls for the best Turkish entry.

My god how can 2004 & 2010 can be so high? they're two average entries from a great esc countries with a lot of great songs.

Being in the top 5 doesn't mean a song is good, especially these days:D

Turkey has a lot of masterpierces but of course in the end it's only 1997 vs 2003.

I picked Sertab because i think it's nice to see an artist going to Eurovision with what is actually one of her BEST songs and not one left on their desk for five years & written in five minute. I always imagine some coffee stain of the music papersheet.

Sertab went to represent Turkey and she chose a great song, she said she was proud of representing her country, her performance was vocally great, the staging was great too. It's not often that the best song pre-contest is the best performance on eurovision night and win.She did that and she did it when Turkey wasn't doing really great with televoters across Europe. She really deserved it imo
