It really grabbed me at first but then they went away and did the repeat-the-song-title-fiftyeleven-times and lost me a bit in the process

A very interesting song from :be: this year. The beginning is a bit tame for my personal taste but towards the end it gets kinda bombastic. A very good voice as well. xclap

At the moment I give :8:, with an interesting staging this could end up very high, especially since we don´t have that many quetish songs this year. :)

I love the bridge, I kinda enjoy the first part and the last repetitive minute tires me. I was about to give it a 6, but in the MV he looks like Malfoy on glitter so :7:.

Solid entry from Belgium! I think it should have a good staging to be able to stand out enough, but overall it's an :8: for me.

The last minute is epic. This is a solid entry, maybe a little bit forgettable, but it will be one of the best for sure.

The contrast between this forum (looking sy the scores in the poll), and the odds or the 5th place in MyEurovision Scoreboard is big. It’s like we are generally speaking about a different song.

Yeah I was surprised after reading some comments here and then going to look in other places and seeing way more people than not hyping it. We've got quite a unique bubble here.

This will be all about the staging, I think. The composition is clearly intentionally designed to frame a visual performance (not that of the music video) that hasn't been revealed yet. There are points that clearly signpost lighting or other visual changes.

I get why outside of this forum people have been hyping this up. It sounds like a Eurovision package. It sounds like it is something that could come alive at Eurovision.

But if you rate it purely as a music track, it does have a slow build with a pay-off that is nice but risks being too repetitive (and is so for some listeners).

Some people primarily listen to Eurovision entries as Eurovision entries first and foremost. For others Eurovision is comparatively more a vehicle to discover artists and music that remain with them beyond the contest. It feels like there is more of the latter here , however that has come to be than on at least some other places that discuss Eurovision.

Who knows, maybe the ESCUnited collectively can be in its own bubble due in part due to such things.

:10: Great pop song, amazing build up.

Unfortunately I watched the video and I'm not really fond of him. Over dramatic and evil queen vibes. If he performs like this on stage those televotes will not come in masses.

For me this song needs a revamp. Its a strange build up. After two rather boring minutes the chorus gets very catchy but again the last minute is very repetitive. I give 6 points.

Agreed with the consensus. It takes a long time to get there but the last minute delivers the promised banger. A revamp in the buildup could make wonders to this. Feeling a :7: for now and certainly the best Belgium entry since 2017.

I think this is further evidence as to why countries like Malta in 2021, Bulgaria in 2018 etc artificially kept their odds low. Its a good way at building hype and convincing people a song is good against their better judgment.

The Maltese delegation did the absolutely opposite to what you are saying, I have never seen such heavy promotion for an entry from a delegation ever, the hype for Destiny was almost entirely artifical

They definitely artificially kept their odds lows, once Je Me Casse was released the went to Nr 1 in the odds but their progress the number 1 was nearly statistically impossible unless there was boting involved. It helped gain media attention and this sort of thing ,weather consciously or subconsciously, will influence people's opinions on songs. We saw with Malta's tele-vote at ESC when the public who heard it for the first time without knowledge of its odds position, the bookies jumping towards everyone else at this stage, just how popular the song really was.

I think similar happened with Ireland in 2018, in the press centre the people present didnt give two craps about the Irish song to the point it was almost seen as a toilet break song. Then come the jury final with the exact same performance, song and performer as the one they didnt care about until Tuesday night takes stage but on this occasion with the context that its the 3rd favourite to win (whereas on Monday night for the jury SF when its only 17th in the SF odds to Q!) suddenly its getting a reaction on par with Israel and Cyprus...what changed? The song and performance didn't change but Ireland's odds did and it just goes to show how influenced people can be by a song based on outside influences such as odds.

For the record I'm not saying this is happening with Belgium this year but I am getting the impression a lot of the hype Belgium is getting is artificial at all but this is not the sort of song the fans usually gravitate towards. And judging by what a lot of fans are saying such as comparing it to Arcade (I mean, come on...what next will we be comparing it to Cha Cha Cha) makes me wonder have some of these fans actually listened to the song properly or are they just believing what the odds are telling them?

This being 6th in the odds says enough about all the other entries released already. This is a good produced, nicely sounding, interesting song but in my opinion not as competitive for victory.
