Honestly didn´t know about them before, but they seem to be very interesting, already curious about the song.

hmm. I can't really think of any song by them in this moment although I know who they are. Quick listen to a couple though makes me think Belgium wont quite be making my hype list for 2020, but lets see what the song brings.

First artist reveal of the year though, the ball is finally rolling for 2020. :D

Ok, it seems that Hooverphonic are incredibly successful and huge in Belgium.
Unlike other "big artist", their fame and success haven't faded away (Cascada, Bonnie Tyler, Blue...). I'm really glad that Belgium is trying another approach by getting such a big name into the game! What a great way to kick off ESC 2020!

Oh i'm very chuffed by this choice, lol. Hooverphonic were my most desired rep in 2016 and 2018. Didn't think they would go for them this year, which makes the surpised all the sweeter,

They're pretty international too. Dropped a few songs in the article that will be published soonishly, you may recognize some of them.

I just realised that I "know" them thanks to Netflix "Umbrella Academy". They've featured one of their songs!

The Belgian leg of the tour starts on January 17. Maybe the song would be published until that date xthink

Wow. I don't even stan (though I do love some songs), but this is a pretty serious level of star power for Eurovision 2020 to start off with. Belgium are very much playing to win.

They won't win. However, I think they'll do about as well as Tamara Todevska did (smashing the jury vote, doing middlingly well in the televote, including 12 points from the Netherlands, etc)

VRT sets the bar high for act selection. Another excitement for 2020 after the announcement of Rotterdam as host.

To bag a name as weighty as this and to announce it super early is quite bizarre. Nevertheless an incredibly intriguing choice. I believe I owned a Hooverphonic album back when I was a teenager going through my jazz and anything mysterious phase, but I can’t remember much really about them or even the songs of theirs I listened to. It’s amazing though to see an alternative band of this magnitude willing to do the contest. It’s really exciting and makes me hopeful that maybe one day I’ll see some of my own personal favourite bands and songwriters at the contest.

That's a bold one. I hope it won't be Darude situation all over again. I have high expectations.

That's an amazing choice and I have very high hopes. Think most would recognize this song:

Also, their lead was one of the authors of "A Matter of Time" xhmmm

Omg xheat The 2020 season starting on a high note

I hope it's something with a similar vibe to "A Matter of Time". I'm sure they can pull it off way better than Sennek did.

Well, the ESC season has just started and we already have an interesting choice of artists from :be:.

I´ve listened to many of their songs, and I´m really surprised that I like most of them!! My personal favourite is "Sometimes" from 2002, with their then lead singer Geike Arnaert.

Their other songs are also good, for example the newest song "Horrible Person", now with Luka Cruysberghs.

Of course we should wait for the ESC entry, but with this choice alone VRT has made a very good and interesting decision.

It's also informed on E'Voix that their song will be released by February.
