I’m slightly dissapointed with this :/
It’s a 7 for now

Hopefully it’s just a demo though

You can find the full song in 10 parts on youtube. For me, it stays in the middle of the road. Definitely not the worst of the season but I was expecting better.

Tumblr, mostly.

On the contrary. I think it could do very well with excellent staging. It dies in the SF if Eliot is rubbish tho lol.

This has the problem shared by most of the songs this year.
It's just dull.
Last year was full of different genres, and memorable entries.
This year most songs leave me unimpressed.
And i'm not those who whine every year about bad quality of entries. I was even one of those complaining about that kind of people lol I'm sure there are many like me who find quality of entries bad this year for the first time

The only thing I'm f***ing, is stupid
Re: BELGIUM 2019 - Eliot

The song is muddled. Too fast for being a pop-ballad, but also too slow for being a banger. I feel nothing from this.
It's among one of the better songs this year, but I can't see this winning if not the staging will show the opposite.

He looks like a younger version of Lazarev...

That's young Sergey (on the right)

and that's Eliot

Personally I don't see a resemblance here...
different shape of face, different color of eye and hair, different shape of eyes also...

Oh man this is so disappointing. The verses are so good and then the chorus hits and the song just drops into the pits of hell. Seriously, if the chorus had some of those fast, dark beats with a better build like in the verses then this could have been a really strong contender, but the song as it sits currently would be a borderline qualifier (then again there aren't really that many strong competitors so far this year....)

It's very good from Belgium. Not as strong as City Lights but the country didn't disappoint me :D

Anyone who says this is a borderline qualifier is nuts. This will qualify easily, possibly even at first place in semi-final.

I love the song my country chose this year and I think it may end up very high.

Sounds great - the verses bring to mind "Arms of Loren" by 90s dance duo Evoke, but sadly the drop isn't anywhere near as hot here. It's still a nice song after the ugly couple of years we've had with Blanche and Sennek, so hopefully we can see Belgium back in the final!

Belgium will be relying on the juries to get through. I just don't think this song has much televoting potential. Staging could change things though.

Yeah you're right. Everything seems to just end in the middle of a road and nothing seems to go all-the-way. Thats also the reason why I put this in my top 3 so far. Its not that difficult to top just average.

This is better than I'd expected from the snippets, but it's very disjointed. As seems to be the general trend, I adore the verses (especially the first one) but the chorus just comes completely out of left field. It doesn't fit the rest of the song on early listens, and is kind of just bland in and of itself. Give me more in the style of those verses, please. As-is... 5 points in the poll when it's up, I guess?

Actually, this is very similar to the review I gave Ireland last year - verses I loved followed by a (yes I'm stealing this now) wheels-on-the-bus chorus. That ended up coming 16th on the back of surprisingly good staging; Belgium's try here feels more contemporary, but of course we don't know how the staging is going to be. So I'd say the most likely range for this is anywhere between a narrow NQ (12th or something in the SF) if it's mediocre live and doesn't have great staging, or a lower top 10 in the final if Eliot can sell the song live, it ends up with a good show and there aren't too many competitors.
