@ Bluebird: music taste has nothing to do with institutional problems in Belgium. People have voted for Axel Hirshoux to go to Eurovision because he was the best candidate, and at the same time they can prefer more power for the regions (i.e. Flanders/Brussels/Wallonia). This is not necessarily a problem imo... (?!)
Of course they can, and it's not a problem for me neither. I'm just trying to tell that the victory of Axel is a proof that the reality doesn't correspond to the image that is brought in the national
press and media. I've been following for years the Dutch and French-speaking press from very close, and I noticed that in a lot of articles, journalists tend to describe people from the other region like a caricature, with a lot of clichés. The victory of Axel is a proof that people react and think in a much more nuanced way. We're all humans after all, and personnally I think that we should have more occasions like this where we can find each other in unity and not in division, far from institutional problems or politics. After all, Axel realised in Belgium the purpose of the Eurovision Song Contest: bring people together through music.
