Re: BELGIUM 2012 - Iris

What? The Belgians were mocking their northern neighbours?

I have to see that. Is there an internet link for the missed program? ("uitzending/programma gemist")

Well they were saying this year we had another some crazy entries
like
Netherlands sent an indian and it looks like she is on fire
and then Russia with the older version of K3.

Blabla.
Don't take this as an insult, VRT just doesn't know better.
If they would have listened to all songs, they could pick other to mock

Don't worry, I didn't take it too seriously. I know how Belgian humor works :p (it doesn't )

I'll search for the tv show online.

A few years ago the German television was mocking Sieneke's Shalalie ("ich bin verliebt, hihihi etc"). It was fun.

I'm a bit angry now, not on Iris, but on VRT.

This didn't learn their lesson IMO.
But ok, i'm gonna fully support Iris and Would you?
But just gonna set my mind to a non-qualification
and just relax and enjoy the first semi
just the way i did it this year

Would you? was the better of the two songs.
I mean, it´s ok, but it´s not one of my favorites in the Semis.
-> 6 points.

Now I miss Tom Dice a lot :(. Such pale entry, but I'll give it 5 points, cause it's not that bad and her voice is nice.

It's nice enough, but it's a bit generic. It doesn't really stand out very much, so my guess is that this won't qualify. I'll give it 5 points.

Practice hard and come back in 10 years or so. There is nothing that I like about this song, but I feel bad for the young girl, so 1 point.

^ Totally agree. It's sad, because Belgium almost always sends original songs.

Btw, my favorite was this one:

It's a sweet song. It's an enjoyable entry and that's it. I'm glad Belgium is not trying hard like some other Eurovision countries. This is simple, yet effective. Juries will love it.

It's very dull and it will have a hard time making itself noticed in the insane semifinal it is in.

Aww, Belgium I was really hoping for something good but this will be overshadowed by stronger ballads this year. 2 Points from me.

Such a shame Belgium chose this. I was convinced it would go for 'Safety Net' as it was far, far superior. 'Safety Net' sounded really contemporary and cool, like a Katy Perry song. But this is much blander and a bit too Disney.
